Just got word that UCLA quarterback/receiver Chris Forcier is transferring to Furman.

He is expected to compete for the QB job there.

What's a "Furman"?

Wasn't he the detective who found OJ's glove?

I'm all for transferring if it'll get someone some playing time and a shot at the NFL, but giving up a UCLA education for Furman? FURMAN ?!? Is that even an accredited school?

I'd bet dollars to donuts the IM fields have better players than Furman.

Hope someone knocks some sense into him before he makes a terrible life decision.

good luck Forcier, we wish you would have stayed and played WR, but I understand you wanting to follow your dream. Good luck with football and in your life. Thank you for your time.

that's interesting, I saw him on campus at 2:30 with Kai Maiava wearing a UCLA shirt, hat, and UCLA backpack...

On 11/7 Furman is at Auburn, hope Forcier's foot speed helps in running from Auburn's D-Line.

The fastest guy on the team is leaving (until RC and Thiggie get here). Too bad.

Wish nothing but the best for Chris and hope he makes it to the NFL.

Furman is a well thought of school, academically. From Wikipedia:

Furman University students have an unusually high acceptance rate into graduate schools. Approximately two-thirds of Furman students will earn graduate degrees. More of Furman University’s graduates have gone on to earn Ph.D. degrees in recent years than any other private liberal arts college in the South, according to a survey conducted by the University of Chicago's National Opinion Research Center.[2]

It looks like a very good school, for the kind of school that it is - a small, liberal arts campus.

It's a major shift for CF - from a gigantic public school in So. Cal. to a small, private school in So. Carolina... but if he isn't going to make it to the NFL, this might actually be a much better place for him to excel academically, depending on what works best for him. I wish him luck!

Dude, Forcier reacted too quickly. He's not even the starter at Furman ("Fuhman"). He's still on the bench as their QB is a Senior who's been starting at Furman for years. Oh well... I hope Forcier doesn't regret leaving...
