Hasiak and Su'a-Filo sightings

| | Comments (19) |

On campus today and saw freshmen offensive linemen Stan Hasiak and Xavier Su'a-Filo, and thought I would pass along how big and strong they look. In my six years covering UCLA, I cannot remember two offensive linemen coming into school with that size.
(I will have some stuff from UCLA's camp in a little while.)

Hopefully, they can play as well.
Let's keep that Polynesian pipeline going.
Can you give them a nickname, or ask them what nickname they would like to have?

Shouldn't this post have been accompanied by a soundtrack featuring trumpets blaring and angels singing the Hallelujah chorus?

Yes, and Sean Sheller was taking them both out ATVing this weekend!

I just love it when bloggers compliment Dohn for a "great post" when its "good news" but criticize him when they don't like the news. I think all of Dohn's posts are great because he provides us information we may not otherwise know -- good or bad. Keep up the "great work" Brian!

How big and strong do they look in relation to the other potential starters (Maiava, Baca, Sheller, Ekbatani)?

Bruins095 Author Profile Page said:

Hasiak - 6,6 - 340 - 350, benches over 500 lbs
Xavier Su'a-Filo - 6'4, 300

Capella 6'4 around 325
Abele - 6'7 - up to 280.

Pretty good size. Anxious to see how good they are. Hope Abele qualifies soon.

I agree, UB. The people on here are such tools. They say "great post" when Dohn compliments us, but they nag him if he says something critical. Good thing we are here to be the voices of reason. That is why Dohn hangs with us.

Now, about Hasiak and Xavier, I think it is awesome that we finally have some manly men on our O'line. As long as they avoid hanging out with Sean Sheller and Micah Kia, they will be just fine.

GO BRUINS! 74 DAYS UNTIL KICKOFF! I KNOW THAT DOHN HAS A COUNTDOWN ON HIS COMPUTER. HE CAN'T WAIT TILL THE NEXT TAILGATE EITHER!!!

UB, can you please keep your comments related to the post and not your additional unneeded comments. thanks

Brian,

Can you confirm the measurements for these two? A few snapshots would have been nice. You know what they say about a picture.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
