McDonald speaks
Here is a football notebook I wrote for today's paper, which deals with transfer news and commitments.
Also, when I spoke to Fresno Edison High cornerback Tevin McDonald about his commitment to UCLA, we talked about his family. His father, Tim, played at USC and in the NFL.
"I asked how he felt about (committing to UCLA),'' Tevin said. "He said he felt great, but of all schools, it had to be ucla? He told me it's a great campus, a great school. In his mind, 'SC is better. He told me Westwood was always the place to be, and he would go there to hang out."
McDonald said he canceled trips to Oregon and Washington after making the decision.
"I feel like now that 'I'm a commit, I don't need to take the trips," he said.

This is

"He told me it's a great campus, a great school. In his mind, 'SC is better."
What does it mean? Did he or did he not receive an offer from Carroll? Isn't "great" better than "better"?
Tevin's talking about his reaction from his father(whom is a PUSC alum). Welcome Tevin!!! It must be exciting to blaze your own path.
according to scout, he does not have an offer from $UC.
With Pooh Richardson under investigation for alleged ties to a drug kingpin, will that have any effect on UCLA recruiting? It is a highly disturbing story.
Wow! Brian please clarify that statement.
nahhh...SC has known murderers and gangsters as alum not to mention gives many of them sideline and locker room passes for games and it doesn't seem to harm them.
Pooh's story isn't that bad anyways. His sister made some poor choices and he was just protecting his family like almost any good person would. Not disturbing at all.
at least this mcdonald kid knows a thing or two about loyalty
A lot of kids are scared off by competition and they fear a lack of playing time. That won't be the case for him at UCLA, but remember, he must sign on the dotted line (Letter of Intent) before anybody officially welcomes him to the family. Remember the ol' counting eggs before they hatch thing.
Refreshing that he is not going to take any trips now that he's committed. We'll see if he can resist temptation as the year wears on.
Let's just hope he doesn't have any academic issues like many of our recruits.
