A parade in LA and this is certainly raining on it from a Ucla bb point of view. First Honeycutt, who at best is likely to enter fall practice very rusty - and seems to me the most likely candidate to wind up starting at SF by the time conference play rolls around. That hurts. But the potential loss of Drew Gordon hurts a lot more. Bobo Morgan has lots of potential but he's just starting out and isn't nearly as quick as is Gordon. Since most college teams lack true centers and play power forwards there, quickness is vital (just as JR Henderson had to play a lot at C in 95 instead of Georg Zidek against quicker front lines). Ucla badly needs both kids, but especially the rising Sophomore Gordon, to have hopes of doing well this coming season. A lot hangs on how his knee checks out.
