Rasshan's next move

| | Comments (10) |

Here is the story I wrote for today's paper about UCLA quarterback/receiver Osaar Rasshan taking a medical retirement after undergoing shoulder surgery today.
While the shoulder will take quite a while to heal, one thing I am hearing is he may try to get pitch for UCLA's baseball team next season. Rasshan was a standout pitcher in high school.
(By the way, Rasshan is one of the classiest kids I have dealt with in my career. I thought I should note that.)

good luck to Osaar on his recovery, and if he chooses to try to pitch next year good luck to him on that also! I look forward to hearing more about this kid. Thanks for the comments Brian.

Hey Brian,
Could you clarify the effect of a medical retirement on Ossar's scholarship? He is still getting his tuition paid, correct?

Maybe he can help out the football team as volunteer undergrad assistant coach.

If anyone needs some good luck it is him. He deserves it and then some.

Brian,

Is the injury an old one he was trying live and play with or is it a recent injury?

When I think about the hits the Bruins quarterbacks have taken for a several year span I wonder how the old staff sleeps at night.

Good luck to Osaar! I have known his family for many years and he's a really good kid!

I'm sure Neu "convinced" him that he needed some type of surgery...any surgery!

Good luck to you Rasshan.

"Neu "convinced" him that he needed some type of surgery" -- the doctor has no say on it?
The family has no say on it?

Surgery is not like going to store for ice cream, I hope.

Osaar I want to wish you the very best! I had the pleasure of meeting you a couple of times after some scrimmages and you are a CLASS ACT!!
I am hoping to see you throwing heat for the baseball club.
