UCLA in Area 51
Picked up the Athlon college football rankings today and saw UCLA was ranked No. 51 in the nation, nestled between Houston and Baylor.
Here's how Athlon ranked Pac-10 teams:
No. 4 USC
No. 11 California
No. 13 Oregon
No. 25 Oregon State
No. 38 Arizona State
No. 51 UCLA
No. 53 Stanford
No. 58 Arizona
No. 76 Washington
No. 88 Washington State

Surprisingly enough Athlon Sports is located in the South, Tennessee to be exact. I do not think were a top team but 51?
Matt, name 50 teams that are better than UCLA next season... ready... go!
Dohn,
What was Rutgers ranked?
Looks like cal is poised for another high-expectation/low-yield year.
that is a move up from something like 80th or so.
I think we could be in the top 30 or so if we can ramp up our offense next year.
I just don't see arizona state up that high. They were horrible on offense last year and they lose quite a bit.
Middle of the PAC again. I think we will be better than AZ St.
We tend to do better when not expected to do much. I prefer that to high expectations and falling short.
I wonder how suc will perform once they get hit with their death penalty...
I'm just wondering if it's higher than Katz has us in Basketball.
The Texas Longhorns (Austin, TX) are also nestled between Baylor (Waco, TX) and Houston, but the Longhorns are #3. So for UCLA also being "nestled between" Waco and Houston, that is a really good thing.
#51? Woo-hoo! Got 'em where we want 'em, under the radar...
The dyslexic Bruins are jumping for joy - #15 baby
I don't disagree with the #51 ranking, but I have a hard time seeing Baylor being competitive with UCLA.
