Fauria to UCLA
I spoke with former Notre Dame tight end Joseph Fauria and he said is going to UCLA. He said he broke the news to everyone via his Facebook page last night, and he added his phone was "blowing up'' since then.
I will have more shortly.

Nice.
Very nice... but does this mean that there are no vacancies for Josh Smith? This sounds greedy, although I'm sure many would agree getting Smith would bring in a desperately needed playmaker.
I have no idea of the scholarship math, but I do believe 5 players have left this off season.
I think we needed 4 openings if we were to bring in our entire signed class, but since, word has come out that Warner is not coming to UCLA and Maka might enroll in Jan. 2010.
Thus, I still think we can bring in Smith. I agree with you, we could use a proven play maker.
This is the best blog ever.
Congrats to Fauria on choosing UCLA.
Ryan:
We should be fine scholarship wise. We signed 27 players and had room for 25, I believe. Well we already got rid of Dean, Carter, and Johnson. Additionally, Tevaga "resigned" and Woods decided to transfer out. Plus, we have already lost Warner from the 2009 class, and will proabably lose at least 2 more to academic issues.
Ultimately, there is still plenty of dead wood on that roster that we could make room from if need be. As Dohn has said many times, UCLA can always find ways to make room.
This looks like a very good get. Bring on Smith and Scott next.
nice, bruins look to be pretty deep at tight end position. Bringing in some solid talent and rebuilding to allow Norm to run his offense.
lol bruinfaithful that's a different Ryan. You mentioned the name Scott though. Who is that?
im pretty postive Scott = Darrell Scott RB from Colorado
Ryan,
Scott is Darrell Scott. Josh Smith's nephew from Colorado and St. Bonaventure Ventura. He is rumored to want to follow his uncle to UCLA. Apparently Smith is also looking at SUC, but is rumored to be coming to UCLA since he was recently granted permission by Colorado to transefer here, if he chose to. Smith actually petitioned to be allowed to transfer to UCLA. He was denied by the committee he petitioned, but ultimately a deal was reached with Coach Hawkins and AD Bohn, allowing him to be released to UCLA if he chose. Reports do not disclose the details of this "deal". I wonder if it included Smith not recruting players to UCLA.
In any event, Darrell Scott was the number one ranked RB in the 2008. He is very very big and quick. He is 6-2, 210 or so and has run a 4.32 40.
Here's hoping.
Interesting story on Fauria, which may have motivated him to transfer. Apparently he was suspended from school at ND. The school would not disclose why, but some reports claim it is because he was streaking. Awwwww, those Catholic schools. If this is true, he should fit right in at UCLA's undie run.
