Shipp still waiting
Although former UCLA wing Josh Shipp has a lucrative offer (more than $250,000 per season) to play in Italy, he still has not signed with anyone.

He may be doing due diligence to see if the owner actually can satisfy the contract. The Euro leagues are much shadier than in the NBA. They don't have the TV or ticket revenue to pay all of the big contracts, so they often rely on a wealthy owner who sees the team as a play toy. Sometimes, the owner fails to pay the bills though. In Russia, this year, some former NBA players got stiffed on a port of their paycheck by suddently less wealthy owners who had their wealth tied up in oil.
Demand a letter of credit, Josh! (But not from CIT!)
Damn ferriners always ask our companies for one.
Nobody deserves $250k a year. We better tax the hell out of him and make him pay for my healthcare.

Hey, Italy is great... Best food I've ever had, SoCal-style climate, and that's not chump change.
Oh, and Anonymous, don't worry. People don't die waiting for healthcare or because they can't afford to see a doctor in Italy... And I'm sure there's no rich people as a result...
You must be one of those $c trolls...
Tyus Edney is still playing Euroleague, including a few years in Italy. Give him a call, Josh!
Italian UCLA fan here (and longtime blog reader, first time commenter);
Brian do you know/can you tell us what italian team has put that offer on the table for Josh? 250k/y is quite high here in Italy; so I think that the offer could came only from an high end team playing in Euroleague (Milano? Virtus Bologna? Roma?) or from a middle level team, but absolutely as their go to guy!
So Josh, came in Italy: if it's a Euroleague team and you play good you can try to earn your way back to the States and into the NBA (Anthony Parker anyone?), if it's middle of the pack team you can light up the league and earn yourself a bit-time european team for the future with big paychecks and an NBA shot (like Terrell McIntyre has did in the last years).
Ah, obviusly it's an heck of a blog (and work) by you Brian!
I can understand that after years dreaming of playing in the NBA it must be humbling not to get the initial chance.
But it could be worse...chosen by some NBA team, sit on the bench, averaging 0.7 minutes a game and never get a chance to improve through some serious playing time.
