UCLA ADDS RUTGERS TO FUTURE FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
UCLA and Rutgers have agreed to a two-year, home-and-home football series, the UCLA Athletic Department announced on Thursday.
The Bruins will open the 2016 season on Thursday, Sept. 1 at Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights will travel to the Rose Bowl to open the 2017 season on Saturday, Sept. 2.
"We feel this will be an exciting West Coast-East Coast matchup. Rutgers is one of the top programs in the Big East Conference," said UCLA Athletic Director Dan Guerrero. "The game will give our alumni in that area a chance to see the Bruins in person and should provide us with some outstanding East Coast exposure."
These two games will be the first meetings between the Bruins and the Scarlet Knights.
UCLA's future non-conference schedules include Kansas State (Sept. 4), Houston (Sept. 11 at home) and Texas (Sept. 18) in 2010; Houston (Sept. 3), San Jose State (Sept. 10 at home) and Texas (Sept. 17 at home) in 2011; Rice (Sept. 1), Nebraska (Sept. 8 at home) and Houston (Sept. 15 at home) in 2012; Nevada (August 31 at home) and Nebraska (Sept. 14) in 2013; UNLV (Sept. 12) and Nevada (Sept. 19 at home) in 2015 and Rutgers (Sept. 1), UNLV (Sept. 10 at home) and Nevada (Sept. 17) in 2016.

Unless B.Dohn still has some eligibility its an easy win for the Bruins!!!
Dohn, will you have to recuse yourself?
Based on recent results and the fact that all the players in that game are not even in high school yet, I think you might want to wait before chalking that game up in the win column.
hahaha. oh man, this is amazing.
by that time... we could have been good, bad, but then really good again!
plus, have you seen our 2012 recruiting prospects vs. Rutgers?
Scarlet Knights going down!
Agreed. Rutgets 2016 and 2017 will not resemble Rutgers right now. There's no way in hell they are going to be able to keep Schiano around that long and nobody else wants the job.
Schiano isn't going anywhere. He's already turned down Miami and Michigan, and Tom Bradley will be the successor to Joe Pa at Penn State.
Also, Rutgers' recruiting has increased significantly over the past 3 years. The upward trajectory of the program should remain consistent for a while.
Should be a good game(s).
THE RUT is so nice.
YAWN!!!! Everybody will be dead by 2012. J/K. Dohn's son will be on the roster by then.
A Thursday night game in Piscataway, N.J. Thrill!
BORING! No offense to Dohn, but this game has Yawn written all over it.
Are there any Taco Trucks in New Jersey?
BRING ON THE GREASE TRUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Taco man... check out:

who wants to go to jersey? Yawn indeed.
Boring? Who wants to go to Jersey? Gee...who'd want to play (1) a program that's been doing pretty well for a few years now (2) in the nation's #1 media market (3) in a nationally televised game? The weekend trip to NYC will be a drag too, I'm sure.
To state the obvious, let's keep those fingers crossed that we're lucky enough to still have Dohn writing this blog in seven years.
On the other hand, do we get to have the Brian Dohn dunk tank at that year's summer scrimmage?
The Dohn brown-nosing that goes on in this blog is really annoying. Agreed, he does a great job, but that's why he gets paid.
I was being mostly facetious. I'm aware of Brian's background. Nationally televised game? not sure about that one.
I'm sure it will be good exposure in that part of the country and hopefully many east coast bruin alumni will see the game. Nice change from San Diego State.
Bruin095, the game in New Jersey will absolutely be nationally televised. That's why it was scheduled for a Thursday night.
Please tell me you used Joe's name to honor his memory. He was an awesome guy, and helpful to me when I broke into this business.
oops, good point Joe, forgot post mentioned Thursday game. Hard to complain about nationally televised games.
Long Beach Poly would be a better game , they would beat UCLA
