Maiava on leadership

UCLA center Kai Maiava, who sat out last season after transferring from Colorado, is taking a leadership role on the offensive line. Here’s the notebookI wrote about this for today’s paper.

    Good set of posts and a nice article on Maiava, Jill. Obvioulsly a position critical to the success of the offensive line. Since the beginning of practice I feel like I know what is going on. This blog is getting better and better !

    I want more Kai Maiavas on this team, on both sides of the ball. He’s a player that intends to rub the other team’s noses in the turf, will never take a backward step, and will always push himself to the max. He’s a sore loser. He HATES being labeled ‘soft.’ He’s got a mean streak. I love him.
