Pre-practice update

A scorching morning sun has UCLA’s players thankful that they are only in shells today, shoulder pads and helmet. Looks like it will be a light practice, focused on preparation for Friday’s closed scrimmage at the Rose Bowl.
As defensive tackle David Carter strolled onto the practice field, he shook his head and said, ‘Woooo, it’s hot.”
Christian Ramirez is still in a walking boot but the limp is noticeably lighter today, and Chane Moline and Stanley Hasiak are back in pads for practice.

Sounds like Westwood has made David a bit soft. He’s from Fontana, it’s generally triple digits in August. Mid-nineties is a welcome relief out here in the IE.

Jon I thought Carter was a DT??
At least that is where he performed at the scrimmage.

Have you heard how many plays the coaches want to run Friday?

Is this more of a get the communication down at the Rose Bowl type of thing? While getting the new players exposed to the Rose Bowl turf and environment.

  • Good catch, Rico. Whoops. That’s what happens when I type to fast. Problem fixed.

How hot is it and what is the air quality like at Figueroa Tech?

High of 95 degrees? Pfffff. Imagine 105+ inland with smog thick enough to be confused as fog. My lungs still hurt thinking about it. It couldn’t have been that hot in the morning. Still seems kind of hot for Westwood. Boy am I glad I live in MDR.
