Craft returns to the rotation

| | Comments (5) |

Kevin Craft, sidelined in recent days with a sore throat and fever, was back in the quarterback rotation Saturday, getting a few extra reps over Richard Brehaut and Nick Crissman behind starter Kevin Prince.

In the final offensive series of practice, Craft connected with Jerry Johnson on a beautiful 25-yard fade route along the right sideline. He also hooked up with Ricky Marvray on consecutive completions, although Marvray fumbled the first catch, which was recovered by Brandon Sermons.

Craft went right back to Marvray on the next play, capping the controlled scrimmage with a 10-yard pass near the right sideline.

"(Kevin) knows what he's doing," Neuheisel said. "It's just a matter him doing it consistently well."

I'm sure Mr. Carft is a winderful pwerson, but he proved that he couldn't learn/grow as QB last year as the season progressed...therefore, what dioes this say about the ability of the 'highly touted' Brehaut?

Scary!

BostonBruin,
Are that dumb? Brehaut is freshman who is still learning the playbook. Think about when you bought your first PC, and you operated it then, and how you operate it now. Things just become much easier when they are second nature. And cut Craft a little slack. You can't really judge what he did last year, because the line was really bad and the line play regressed as well. It's amazing how quarterback play improves when its backed with good line play that results in an effective run game. Think about when you are rushed to do something and how better you do it when you are not pressed for time.

We need to have KC in the mix and executing well...just in case Prince goes down. I want ALL of our QBs performing above expectations and able to lead this team to victory. Brehaut is a great kid, a steadfast Bruin. He has all the makings of a terrific QB.

5dollar, well said. Craft can make the short to medium range throw. He led in interceptions last year, but I think was right behind Sanchez in completions.
