The hit

Pat Larimore and Logan Paulsen had such a fierce collision today that Larimore's facemask was bent upward. Rick Neuheisel got the helmet and showed it to reporters after practice to illusrate his happiness over the intensity of practice.
``I didn't see the hit, but I saw the helmet,'' Morrell Presley said.

Jill,

There are two practices scheduled for Saturday. Will they both be in pads or will one be in pads and the other not in pads? Any idea what they will be doing in each practice? I'm trying to decided which one to go to. Thanks.

I remember when Logan and Terrence collided, resulting in Terrence requiring some dental work!

That was Brandon Breazell; I guess you don't remember it that well.

I am told by a UCLA official that the morning session is shoulder pads and shorts and the afternoon session is full pads.

well if Larimore's facemask was dented, it was probably Paulsen doing the hitting..

No Paulsen was playing fullback and Larimore filled the hole

If the mask is bent upwards it means Paulsen got underneath him. I'm sure it's not a mistake Larimore wants to repeat.

I definitely remember the Paulsen hit on Breazell. Olson was intercepted in BYU game two years ago. Braezell tried to make the tackle, the ball carrier ducked and Paulsen collided with Breazell. I was sitting pretty close, amazing how loud it was. I didn't think Breazell was going to get up. I met Logan after a game, one big dude. Hope he can stay healthy, definitely missed him last year. TE is one position I'm not too concerned about.

This is a good sign as it shows our intensity is where it needs to be. Hopefully no one got seriously hurt on the play, but I'm sure we would've heard by now.

A Bruin 'big hit'? Are you kidding? It was a cheap, Chinese-made facemask that would cave in if you sneezed on it.

Nice try, Neuweasel.

Longhorn Pete, yeah, Rick would really use a non-standard helmet, risking his player's safety, as a trick for the media. It's a new day in Bruin football. Look the hell out for the Blue and Gold.
