Halftime observations

* It’s a bit early to jump to any conclusions, but UCLA fans should be excited by the performance of the offensive line. Kevin Prince has all day back there, and responded with 140 yards and touchdown on 12-of-16 passing.
* Derrick Coleman and Johnathan Franklin are, in a word, fast. Both have fifth gears, as evidenced on Coleman’s 31-, and 29-yard gains, and on Franklin’s 12-yard touchdown.
* SDSU’s long touchdown throw from Ryan Lindley to Vincent Brown can likely be blamed on blown coverage, but I’ll ask about that after the game.
* UCLA’s run defense is punishing the SDSU offensive line, as the Bruins have dropped Aztec running backs behind the line several times.
* UCLA committed three costly penalties, twice extending SDSU drives and stifling one of its own.
* What the heck was that play earlier? A reverse, flea-flicker lob? Was that why SDSU closed its practices?
