Three for Three with Courtney Viney

On his pre-practice meeting with Carnell Lake:
“Definitely, I was focused on looking the guy in the eyes. He basically told me that I was up. It’s my time. He has confidence in me to go out and play at the highest level. I took that more so as a challenge, and I want to get it done.”

On having in-game experience:
“In big games, the key is, even when you get tired, to stay technique-sound. Play within the defense and not try to do too much. The games I played in last year were experience factors, seeing where I was after a redshirt. This year, I think I can capitalize on that little bit of experience.”

On waiting to get his chance:
“Great things take time. Even if this wasn’t my time, I was going to be ready. Regardless, I was going to come to work every day. Now, unfortunately, things have changed, and I’m up. It’s my turn.
