On offensive penalties:
“They’re painful because not only do they interrupt a drive, but in one case they took points off the board. They have to be addressed. We need to make sure were coaching the right things. We have to make sure we’re not getting costly plays called back.”

On Logan Paulsen’s penalty:
“Logan got called for a hold but I’ve never seen the back judge call it. That was an interesting thing. When someone goes to ground, whether they went legit or yanked down, it certainly draws attention.”

On the offensive line:
“I’m very pleased with where the offensive line is. They’re hungry. Those kids running of the field are excited about run the ball and scoring. I believe we’re ahead of progress with that bunch.”

On the team being 3-0:
“I know this is going to sound very coach clich and maybe it is, but I was taking it one game at a time. When people asked me before the season, ‘I wanted to be in a bowl game.’ How to go about getting that, I didn’t say which bowl. It’s obvious that this conference has a lot of good teams. Rather than worry about how many wins, I think the best way for us to proceed, and coach clich aside, we have to play our next game.”
