Eddie Williams dehydrated, rushed to hospital

| | Comments (7) |

UCLA junior offensive guard Eddie Williams was treated for dehydration at the UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital and has been released.

Williams suffered cramping and was in need of fluids. Because of his dehydration, the athletic training staff was unable to start an IV so he was transported to the hospital for the required fluids.

Williams is not expected to practice on Wednesday.

Not surprising. I'm a student here at ucla, and the air around campus is just horrible today. I understand that you need to practice, but today's weather was really awful. Hope he feels better and all this clears up.
I'm starting to wonder if postponing the first game may not be a bad idea. I don't see how this weather will be safe for the players or the fans on saturday.

move the game to Labor Day.

It's critical for this game to be played as scheduled this Saturday. The kids need a game under their belt before facing the Vols the following week. A game on Labor Day would give UCLA a short week for game prep as they would have the additional burden of flying back east to face a hostile crowd in SEC country.

Fan4Life said it BEST. We NEED this game to be played because we need a game under our belt before we face the Vols in front of 100,000 screaming fans. I wouldn't mind the game being pushed back to 7pm but regardless they BETTER NOT postpone this game (knock on wood)

He should be fine for Saturday. The day off today will more than suffice. If he's not for some reason, Brandon Bennett is ready to step in and absolutely dominate.

It would be "ideal" to play this game on Saturday instead of postponing to early December...but not "critical". Tennessee is going to have issues on offense this year and adjusting to a new coach and our D is going to be ridiculously good & fast which is crucial against SEC teams which will allow Prince & the offense to get their feet under them.
