You want a coincidence?
On the same day I was hired as the UCLA beat writer for the Daily News, my old coworker from the Casper Star-Tribune in Casper, Wyo., Austin Ward, was hired as the Tennessee beat writer for the Knoxville News-Sentinel.
Weird.

Man, what a bunch of whiners. A college baseball or softball player will play maybe 35 games on the road in a season, many of them in the middle of the week. A football player plays 6, count 'em, 6 road games. ALL of them on the weekend. Whew!
