Brehaut enters
With Kevin Prince and Kevin Craft combining to go 13-of-32 thus far, UCLA is putting freshman Richard Brehaut in with 5:41 left down 27-13. Quite frankly, they should have done this earlier - win or lose.
Heading down to the field now.

When does basketball season start?
This has to be the worse 2 yrs. of UCLA FB I have EVER seen. PATHETIC!!!! WTF are these guys doing at practice everyday, grabbing ass? We could end up 4-8 again and 1-9 in the Pac-10. We should have gone after Leach or Brian Kelly. They know how to win with low to mid tier talent.
but they are "getting better"...so sick of hearing that.
Maybe if we would of had two bogus defensive TD's we would of had a chance.
I'm the sucker for having four season tickets.
our qb's are just plain terrible. I mean prince was missing every throw no matter how easy. I don't understand how he keeps getting worse instead of improving.
Craft or Brehaut makes not difference.
The way I see it, if we don't get better than 7th place in Pac-10, how is that an improved season?
We can only play Wash St once this year, and guess what, Wash improved over last year.
Jon Gold was smart enough to sit this dog out.
I know this has nothing to do with Brehaut entering the game so you don't have to tell me but, wow, is James Washington hard to listen to. I tried but had to listen to the game with the volume turned down. Fox Sports can't find better? Bruins in trouble, why not just go with Brehaut and let him take his lumps. He's the future. Prince and Craft don't have it. Brehaut probably does.
I am SOOOOOOOOO disappointed with the team. I have been a UCLA fan for 40 years and this game was the absolute worst!!! How can a team be so inept. When does it get better?
"We should have gone after Leach or Brian Kelly. They know how to win with low to mid tier talent"
That mediocre coach with mediocre team and mediocre talents at least took the team to bowl games each of his 5 seasons. Rick "the Snake Oil Salesman" Neuheisel is on the path to yet another losing season. Only beating SC can redeem the season a little bit. But the way this team is heading, 3-9 season is a possibility.
And yes, Rick should get the same heat like that mediocre coach!!!!
Too late to put a stop pmt on my season tickets?
this team sucks..........
Don't even think Dorrell's offenses were ranked this low.
But hay, at least we have Norm Chow.
"Give them time"...."we just need better personnel"...."they are young"....Ok I buy into it but having been a season ticket holder for over 40 years this is getting painful to watch...Been through the last year or two of Toledo...been through Karl.... I Like Rick....but what is up here?....We are NOT improving...perhaps you can legitimately say we are learning from our mistakes not to make them again but it seems we are digressing in every facet of the game.....and quite frankly if we had anyone but Norm Chow the heat would be on the offensive coordinator irregardless of who is at qb....Coaches around the country use the talent they have and they EXECUTE their offense.....we do NOT function as a organized offensive unit....Which would be sad enough if it was because we have no talent but it is even sadder when you consider we do have more talent than teams ranked higher in the nation in offensive production...frustrated
Skippy and Chow need to wise up man. We need to run the Spread. It would be perfect for this team. A team with plenty of speedy receivers and backs and NO Offensive line. Let Craft run it. He's used to taking a beating and he's expendable anyway. Unfortunately, Skippy Neu doesn't like it or understand it rather. Read this GREAT article on Skippy's view on the spread with good analysis of his statements.
http://smartfootball.blogspot.com/2009/04/rick-neuheisel-on-what-is-spread.html
Here is a list of the teams who run the spread in college. 48 teams, many of them are consistent BCS bowl participants and NC contenders.

I said many times 2 yrs ago, that when nobody else was really interested in the UCLA job, or nobody we could afford, that we should have gone after Leach or Kelly.
Hey "Mikey likes it",
How could this be the worst? You forgot about the games in 2005( UCLA @ Arizona, UCLA @ USC), and in 2008 (@ Utah, @ ASU). Oh, what about when ND was at Rose Bowl a few yrs ago.
Those were crap, and that's just off the top of my head.
"Here is a list of the teams who run the spread in college. 48 teams, many of them are consistent BCS bowl participants and NC contenders."
Even if we'd run spread offense, our receivers still ran the wrong route and dropping balls. The result would be the same. Specially Rosario, if he keep on making those mistakes during the game, let Jerry Johnson or Moutra play and see what they can do.
Randall Carroll tweets again - "Give Me the Damn Ball"
CRN should suspend him or rescind his scholarship. Let that loser transfer to where he belong, suc.
Just read about the incident involving Randall Carroll and Norm Chow. Sigh...this season is a mess.
Coach RN is a fraud.
The way Arizona was turning the ball over (5 times), I think they wanted us to win more than we wanted to win. Seemed like Zona was handing the game to us on a platter.
Mike Stoops - "here Rick, take this game and build from it."
CRN - "oh, no thanks Mike, we're good."
Carroll/Chow....?.....what
tired of being bummed out. i'm going to join the usc fans to see what it's like to be on a winning side.
We are not going to get top recruits if our own players are bad-mouthing the program. randall carroll is a plant by his long lost uncle, pete carroll, to undermine our team!!!
We see through the bs and lies, time to own up. No more of this "moral victory" bs, produce results, even minor improvements like maybe getting a first down or two? If you don't you're already on the players shit list, won't be much longer until fans and donors join in too.
Norm Chow needs to go. Rick's only job should be recruiting which he's good at. Chow on the other hand is an utter failure in my view. Carroll shouldn't be tweeting crap like that no matter how inept chow has been though.
From LA Times Story:
http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-spw-ucla-carroll-chow25-2009oct25,0,908464.story
A message sent from the Twitter account of a UCLA freshman football player to a top high school recruit complained about Bruins offensive coordinator Norm Chow and referred to him with a racial epithet.
The post from the account of OCiAM, dated Oct. 22, referred to the Bruins' last three games, all conference losses, and read, "man oregon, stanford and cal should have been easy wins ,, but [expletive] thys [racial slur] norm chow dnt be trustin us ,, so it is what it is."
The account belongs to Bruins receiver Randall Carroll, who was directing the tweet to the attention of La CaƱada St. Francis High running back Dietrich Riley. It also could be seen by the public.
I seriously have to wonder what the H these guys do all week in practice on the offensive side of the ball. Also, I was specifically watching to see if any of our players could break a tackle or make someone miss and I did not see it happen all game. Yet our D was wiffing all over the place, missing 4 or 5 tackles in one play. Our D needs to get back to fundamentals as far as tackling and our O needs to play to our strengths. Oh and stop running screens to our big slow TE's, why does Chow keep calling these plays, we need fast guys in space a la Knox. Nobody on the team could run a better screen play than Knox. Is Norm secretly still a trojan and trying to sabotage us??? I see only one more win this year and I think that Neu has lost the team as they seem to have given up.
I am one that believes that the team is improving (in the long run) and will be better next year, but this game was just unbearable to watch. I can accept a losing season for the regime change, even a losing 2nd season to get things in order, but Where the hell is the immediate game-to-game improvement?! You should be able to point at something (ANYTHING) even in a losing game and say "Hey, we showed improvement here". The only thing missing on offense was Dorrell's stoic face on the sidelines.
The remainder of the season should just go to developing the young kids for next year. Choose between Prince or Brehaut now (as the long-term QB) and just stick with them instead of this pseudo-qb-carousel we had at the end of the game.
oh, and 1,000% agree with Billy@7:25, Fox Sports actually found a way to make the game worse with James Washington doing analysis. Just plain HORRIBLE. He truly added to my frustration throughout the entire broadcast. He kept repeating the same nonsensical phrases as if it would make more sense if he kept saying them. Was Danny Farmer or even Sean Farnham so busy today?
Slick Neu- Weasel
This team is too young to be good. As they mature they will improve.Carroll should be dropped from the team immediately before he becomes more of an internal cancer.I am disappointed in the season, but know more about the sport to expect more than this team is capable of doing and I don't jump off and on the band wagon like so many of the experts who read this blog.
I wholeheartedly agree with solomonbruin re: Carroll. I guess for every Alterraun Verner out there there's gonna be a Randall Carroll.
What other coaches can we hire? Lets dump this crowd
OMG!!!! Please say this Carroll story isn't true. DISASTER!!!! If it's true, he will have to be kicked off the team. UCLA will have no choice. Now I wonder what the suspension was for.
This is freaken disastrous for recruiting. Say goodbye to some recruits.
Should have just let Carroll go to USC.
I miss... gulp... Karl Dorrell.
