Looks like Prince is going back in. Dunno why, he was pretty ineffective.
We don't deserve to win this game. Until we learn how to win we will lose. It sounds simple and almost pointless but it is true. Our defense is over-hyped and our offense is inept.
the kid has got some zip on his throws. is this the beginning of the brehaut era??
competition is good.
UCLA just couldn't pick up the blitz all day. Couldn't protect the football, and had absolutely no offensive firepower.
Pass defense was fine, but terrible tackling was the killer.
Totally anemic performance.
It's all the same, only the names have changed. This is the same old pathetic football we've been living with for the past decade. Ask RN and NC if they are ready to quit, cause it seems like they have.
That was a very Dorell-ian performance.
let's see... no pass protection, poor tackling, inability to score from the one in four tries??!!! oh and again, key penalties at the absolute worst possible times. oregon was there for the taking today, i'm afraid the bruins have peaked for the year unless they figure things out fast.
How about those play calls? No rollouts, no trick plays, Brehaut sitting in the pocket for 10 seconds every down. No anticipation of the inevitable blitzes that anyone with half a brain would throw at a true freshman on 3rd down. Chow and CRN know what they have in this team and there is no legitimate attempt to call a game that plays to their strenghts (if any). We're loaded at WR, TE and RB and have a funtional O-line finally. And a D that rocks and is asked to do everything, including provide most of the scoring. Pathetic and frustrating. This loss is not on the kids is on the coaches - as was the last one.
Brehaut does have some zip on his throws. But the way UCLA played in those two drives, he's going to have some concussion issues by the time his career is done here. You hold your breathe not knowing if it's going to be a bullet for a 25 yard gain or a sack for a 10 yard loss.
Now the interesting question is who going to start next week? Alum Dave Norrie mentioned about lack of quality play at the QB position. So who has more upside? Prince, Brehaut, or Nottingham coming in next year? If Prince struggles in the first half vs Cal, why wait until next year for Brehaut to mature. Let him play this year and get as much experience as possible going into next year.
You guys are so dramatic. This is a young team which means growing pains. Prior to the beginning of the season most of us thought that a 6-6 year would be a big step forward. We can still make a bowl game and build off that for next year.
For all the negativity now, the saddest thing is seeing so much potential amount to nothing. We came away with zero points from the one yard line and came away again with 0 points from the red zone in the 4th. Just pathetic. Our defense did play well for the most part though our run D is at best slightly above average. They scored most of their points off of turnovers and that 100yard KO return.
Just back from the RB and THIS TEAM SUCKS, Im tired of watching horsesh*t football. Norm, your offense is boring unimaginative and flat SUCKS. Jim Svboda did more with less! MORE UNWATCHABLE BRUIN FOOTBALL!
With a Fat center at 6' and a FAT guard at 6' we are the laughingstock of the Pac-10 NO bowling this year, we will be lucky to win another 2 games!

A neuheisel-ian performance, way to abandon your qb after you got his jaw broken,he's been out a month, stick with him at least the game,Brehaut is not the answer.
I don't blame Prince but Brehaut is doing better.
The D gave up 10 pts,and scored 7,the offense has 7tds in 5 games, its time for Neu,and Norm to get it together, the d is not the problem.
To Anon @ 4:30 - Yes it's a young team but this isn't the NFL. There are lots of "young teams" out there. LaMichael James is a freshman and has been putting up huge numbers for the ducks. Barner is also a freshman and has that kickoff return for a TD. suc and Michigan are starting Fr QBs.
Bottom line is they are not boys playing among men. They are playing among their own peers. They need to perform.
Yes, CRN has a macro-view of the program. I love that about him. However, a 6-6 record isn't good enough even for this year. And as far as build off that for next year, um, next year the defense will be "young" as many seniors leave and probably Price as well. So basically, in college football and basketball, every program is in the same boat. All programs "rebuild" every couple of years. I love my Bruins but I just can't buy into the youth excuse.
There were more Oregon Duck fans around at the end of the game than Bruins. That sucked.
Norm Chow is doing what he can, with he can. I'd put it more on Neu doing whatever he was trying to do with the quarterbacks.
LaMichael James is not as good as UCLA made him look.
Wasn't Brehaut supposed to be just as good as Matt Barkley? Give him a chance.
Jon - suggest you update the final score sooner, it seems odd for the blog at 5:51pm not to have final score - thanks
I'll take "The worst 90 seconds of football ever" for $1000, Alex...
anybody up for game of Monopoly
I agree with Ebob. I'm tired of the "young" excuse also. There are freshman QB's and other young ones making impressions all over the country. This is the same old team we've watched the past decade and it's getting tiring. Looks to me like this team is already going backwards than forward. Even Tennessee has gotten better by spanking a good Georgia team. Once opposing teams get a good look at our vanilla skeem, it's easy to stop. So far, our coaching staff should be arrested for theft. Just stealing money. No improvement from last year. I thought we'd see a competitive team this year. That's too bad.
