Damien Thigpen in. Newsflash: He's fast.
With the game effectively out of reach, UCLA has put freshman running back Damien Thigpen in the game, and he has been very effective on his first three plays, gaining 28 yards on three carries so far. He simply ran by three Stanford defenders on his first carry.

I've been crying for RN to play that kid more this year. He needs to be our return man. He is the fastest man on the field against almost any time we play against. He is even faster than Stanford's much heralded return man Owuwhatever.
I agree we should play Thigpen more on both offense and special teams.
By the way Jon, I would not have characterized the game as "effectively out of reach" at that point.
Notice how the Bruins were driving for a tying score at the end of the game?
Jon,
Please ask Neuheisel why in the hell he doesn't use Thigpen and Randall Carroll more often. Austin returning kicks is painful to watch. If you recruit talent and speed, play talent and speed.
Someone needs to let Rick know.
