Post-practice update

*Nick Ekbatani will get the starting nod at right guard, but UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel said Stanley Hasiak will rotate in early. The coaching staff is not sold that Hasiak's ankle is 100 percent from last weekend.
*Aaron Hester will travel with the team to Arizona but likely won't play.
*Nik Abele and Nate Chandler were out there in jerseys but on the sidelines, recovering from consussions suffered during practice yesterday.
*Neuheisel on the defense facing a passing offense for the first time in a while:
"That's the nature of this beast; there's so many different kind of offenses in this league, you just have to. Coaches have to give you a plan you can execute and you have to go out and do it. But we certainly understand we're playing a very effective offense, and one that is hot right now."

John - Any bitterness from Hester about the decision for him to sit out Saturday's game?

It is great to know that Hassiak will be ready, maybe he will wear his mandatory knee braces this week as well as his ankle braces. Last week he suited up minus his mandatory knee braces, don't know about ankle braces, too difficult to tell. I hope he learned a valuable lessen regarding acting like a spoiled brat and ignoring the team policy. The best part is that when Williams went down Hassiak went in even though he didn't have the mandatory equipment for o-lineman. Sombody has to communicate better with the kids and it sure as hell isn't Palcic.

Great news briefs and commentary, Jon. I think you have recently added some valuable perspective on a great team in the making. I feel like I know the players. And I have more of a stake in their efforts to win. So much better than just flipping on the tube and seeing who is winning.

I'll take content over spelling, Jon. . . . Especially when I am on this stupid laptop cramped keyboard today!
