Quotables: Tony Dye
On the defense deserving a win:
"Once side of the ball can't win the game, everybody's got to work together. There were spots when we were doing great, and there were spots when we were doing terrible. We probably could've won the game if we didn't give up the plays we gave up. We didn't come through on those plays, those particular few."
On overlooking the small plays:
"The game was a big-play game, and a lot of people overlook the 3rd-and-1s. I don't think we overlooked those plays at all."
On the four minutes of misery:
"I've never seen that in football in my life. We're up 3-0, 26 seconds later, we're down 14-3. Such a swing of momentum so fast. That damages morale real quick."
On the locker room being silent at halftime;
"It was the same way pregame. We were focused. We had been emphasizing focus all game, do you job, so people were thinking. I know people were excited at the opportunity to win the game, but I think people were locked into their jobs. No one even wanted to come in for halftime, everyone just wanted to finish the game right there."

Here is a quote from the LA Times. Let's keep this in mind. "We're trying to keep each other uplifted," said linebacker Reggie Carter, one of four team captains. "It'd be great if the fans stayed with us too. We're all one family. You don't run out on your family when things are going bad." I'm not running out. Are you?

"Hopefully, they'll stay with us and understand we're fine. We're fighting. It's not like we're not trying. We want to win for ourselves as much as we want to win for them. They were with us when we were winning. We'll see how many stay loyal and stay with us now."
I'm not running out. Are you? GO BRUINS!!
UCLA GAL,
Great pull. I'm sticking with my boys too, regardless of the outcome. I know they're trying...And we're going to be fine!
Yea, I will be there next Saturday, bright and early to cheer on the players as that walk through Lot H and hopefully to victory.
That L.A. Times article was only referring to us internet geeks, the extreme nut cases are we, not to the general bruin nation. And of course every sports fan feels miserable when his favorite team loses.
But cheer up, boys and girls, because I predict ucla beats cal. And since I have won the Jon Gold "closest to the score" two weeks in a row, perhaps I know something about handicapping games.
a.k.a LAWYER JOHN (the real one) and ONLYTHETRUTH
Jon let the Team know we are just venting we aren't going anywhere.
I will be there Saturday yelling my arse off!!
GO BRUINS!! FIGHT!! FIGHT!! FIGHT!!
Real fans are not going anywhere. We are the ones who watched the Dorrell era whether we liked it or not. We stick with the team, win or lose.
There were good things to come out of that game. We had our chances to score. Hopefully with more experience, this team becomes the sleeping GIANT we all hope they can be!
Of course, I am sticking with my Bruins! No need to fear that at all. And, yes, "we' (FANS) are frustrated. Not because we think the coaching staff sucks. Far from it. We have a very good staff. And not because we think the players suck. Again, I think we have (young, inexperienced) talent on this squad. The frustration comes from a good defensive effort in the first half, only to be squandered in the first 30 seconds of the second half. That comes from the youth and inexperience. So, we will be patient. We will hang in there -- and we will express our frustration. After all, we are only human.
But, we must look at the postitives, too. (I know, I sound like CRN). Unlike the Dorell years, this tem has not folded, nor has it been obliterated by any opponent. We have had chances to win the last two games. As this team progresses, we will get those wins!
As for Prince v. Brehaut, I will say what I have said since the Spring Scrimmage and repeated after the Fall Scrimmage. I think Brehaut is the starting QB next year. I think Neu and Chow know that. Prince is the best chance this year. He had the redshirt year to absorb the offense a bit. Brehaut is very green and very inconsistent. But athletically, I think he is the best of the curent group. He will get PT this year whenever the staff can get it to him. They burned his redshirt for a reason. To give him as much as possible this season and set him up for 'winning' the job next spring. Mark the date and time, I told you AGAIN today -- Brehaut is our starter next season.
UB
Ultimate Bruin,
FINALLY....Someone who gets it! LOL Sheeesh!!!
Jon, did Pullard commit?
I guess asking for some type of an offensive attach is simply too much to ask for, guess it must be a fluke for Temple to have a higher total offensive rating than the Bruins.
How long do we have to wait before we can score on some what of a regular basis? When is Haley's Comet due?
"Please come back next week, I promise you'll see a better game" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAH
Temple lost to FCS Villanova at home and their schedule is weak. Compare apples to apples please before making those comments.
Ok, so Bruins should be ranked 95th in total offense. Check. Thanks blow hard.
