You've got questions...

I've got answers...

So I did a little more thinking on the Q&A, and it just naturally makes sense to me to answer throughout the week, perhaps a set per day.

Fire away, and if there are enough questions by tomorrow, you'll get the dish sooner than later.

Thanks guys
JG

Any Basketball commits this weekend?

Jon, I haven't heard much regarding Neuheisel's HORRIBLE clock management in the 4th quarter. We held them scoreless in the 4th quarter and seemed like we would have had a shot had we managed our time better. Here are my questions:

1) Do you believe poor clock management and our team's lack of urgency in the 4th quarter played a huge role in why we ended up losing?

2) Rahim Moore's "late hit" call was very ticky tack. Nevertheless, it shifted the momentum of the game early on in Stanford's favor. What is your take on that call?

3) When they overturned our fumble recovery call, why did the ref's not call intentional grounding on that? That was horrible.

Obviously, the refs aren't the reason we lost, but I'd love to have your take on that. Thanks!

Also,

4) Do we have a shot in hell at beating Oregon?

How did the big basketball recruiting weekend go?

Reformed Droog said:

I can only remember 2 or 3 blitzes the entire game. 90% of the time our defense was lining up with 4 guys in the box against an offense that we knew was going to be run happy. What is your take on the logic behind that defensive scheme (including almost zero pass rushes)?

Also, are you enjoying the bromantic attention you seem to be getting from some of the blog readers?

Any criticisms of Neuheisel over this past weekend? Over the season?

Was it Neuheisel or Chow that went Donahue with the play calling?

I won't have to ask as soon as I learn to lip read but does Neuheisel interject himself into the play calling as much as it seems?

How is Rahim Moore feeling? Will he play against Oregon? What is the Bullough's backup plan if both Moore and ATV are out? How will the deal with a spread offense?

Are the other quarterback so far behind in the playbooks that they couldn't manage a game better than Kevin Craft? Nick Crissman has been in the program for 2 years and was said to be recovered from his shoulder injury

I know these are questions you will address sometime this week, but I'm really anxious to know.

1) what's the status of Kevin Prince? Will he play Saturday?
2) with thigpen doing such a good job with the snaps that he took, why did they take him out?
3) can you ask whoever is in charge of the pre-game elements, why they play like all this Sheryl Crow and other songs that does not pump up the crowd. Please tell them to change the songs. It's really starting to piss me off everytime I go to the rose bowl.

From where I sat on Saturday, the following questions come to mind:

1. Are the Stanford fans pathetic or what? It seems like their stadium should have been rockin' a bit more for the #1 P10 team.

2. In the 4th, when we needed 2 scores, why did we not employ the no-huddle, exclusively? VB and I were beside ourselves with how S-L-O-W the offense moved in between plays. Even when the offense set, Craft would tick off 3 or 4 more seconds.

3. Do you think the defensive game play sold out too much to the run? Stanford mixed it up quite well and picked apart our D-Backfield when they needed to.

4. Do you agree that this is a "good" loss? (From the standpoint that (a) we did not get blown out; (b) that we played Stanford closer than the Dawgs; and (c) we did not fold up our tents, but fought back.)

I note that I had the closest score in your UCLA-Stanford contest, having stated it would be 24-13 Stanford. Do I get to ask the 10 questions of a Bruin this week?

Could you please report, in approximate percentages, who's taking the snaps in practice this week? When will Richard Brehaut receive game time experience this season or will the coaches red shirt him?

JG,
I still find it crazy that Demetri Papadakis is playing football at UCLA instead of USC. I've seen his dad & Petros at a couple practices already

You included Demetri in one of your scrimmage recaps back in August. I know he's a preferred walk-on -- but what do the coaches think about his ability/potential ?

What a story that would be if he becomes a contributor at UCLA...

The 2 minute offense at the end of the half seemed to work well.Plays were being made and we were able to have a legitimate drive. Why did they not continue that in the 2nd half?

seems like there's a lot of recruiting noise around, for both FB and BB - when will we hear about it here? I know the Dohnster had years to build his contacts, but things seem slow here lately.

2 questions here

1) Besides ATV. Reggie Carter, and Brian Price, who do you feel is the best player on the team right now and why?

2) I'm not convinced that Robert Woods has completely made up his mind on USC at this point. Any chance the Bruins can steal him away from USC? Is UCLA still going after him hard?

please can we get some information on these bball recruits that visited last weekend. Whats the word on Tyler Honeycutts injury?

Tristan said:

Hey Jon,

Clearly our offense sputtered this weekend. Maybe it was the offensive line, maybe it was a general lack of focus, I really don't know. Now , to address the controversial Kevin Craft. Firstly, I do not think he is a bad quarterback. I do think he lacks the arm strength for the deep ball, but he's usually around average, well this year. However, I do believe that Kevin Prince is a better leader and motivator than Craft. The offense seems more alive with he's under center. Do you think that this is an accurate assessment and will his return be enough to move the ball against Oregon?

Thanks!

UCLA has offered seven wide receivers and lost three to Stanford, Tennessee and USC.

-How is UCLA looking at getting the other four?
-Paul Richardson is said to have a strong interest but he's got visits to other schools going as late as the end of November and USC hasn't even begun to recruit him yet. How likely is he?
-Will the current level of QB play affect decisions much?
-How high a priority is the WR spot?
