Aramide Olaniyan commits to UCLA
Scout.com is reporting that No. 9 outside linebacker Aramide Olaniyan verbally committed to UCLA today.
Olaniyan originally committed to Duke but backed out of his commitment. A four-star prospect out of Woodberry Forrest High, Olaniyan visited the Bruins just two weeks ago, and was apparently very taken with the program.
Olaniyan quickly climbed up the prospect ranks this year, with offers from Michigan, North Carolina and Virginia, among others.
Here's his profile: Olaniyan

Did he sign a LOI or did he just verbal?
An issue of semantics. He verbally committed, he cannot sign until Febuary.
tip: links that you post that leave insidesocal.com (in this case it takes you to scout.com), you should have it pop up in a new window ("_blank"), instead of replacing the current window ("_self").
Then you'll keep readers on your site in the background so they can return to it when they are finished reading the linked story.
Just a tip to keep readers from leaving your blog :D
Boo Ya. Another nice signing. I personally think that DT & LB are our biggest needs. There are still some HUGE recruits out there. We have some huge momentum and I am enjoying the recruiting snowball.
Only weighs 200 lbs. Kinda puny for an LB at the college level. He would really need to bulk up, even playing out on the edge.
Are they possibly looking at him as a safety?
This appears to be a very nice player we are getting! It's nice to see CRN recruiting across the entire country for the best players!
Welcome Aramide! Glad to have you!
Did you mean he gave a non-binding oral commitment rather than he "signed"?
I don't believe he can actually SIGN until the SIGNING PERIOD. Perhaps "commits to" should replace "signs with" in your headline, and similar changes should be made to the body of your entry.
This is a great commit. He's an ESPN Top 150 player and a 4 star recruit (for you star lovers). LB is also definitely a position of need, and it shows our ability to pull an East Coast recruit.
He is rather lean, but he definitely has the frame to put on 20lbs of muscle and the reports say he has a high-ceiling.
Go Bruins!
Gold is wrong. its a non-binding oral commitment. Signing day is in Feb.
I am pretty sure they want him at OLB not at S. They brought in Westgate at 5-11/205 and kept him at LB. I do see him adding some weight though.
That was weird. When I wrote my comment at 4:49 there were NO other comments visible. It looked like I was going to be the first. Strrrrange.
Neuhiesel is in BEAST MODE right now. He is the man...
Some of the comments on here crack me up. This kid is not a Safety and was not brought in here for that regard. We already have a glut at Safety. We need LBs. He is a 6'2 200lb LB. He needs to put on 15-20lbs, which he can easily do with his frame, to get to optimal playing weight.
This is a HUGE get at a serious position of need.
Number 9 OLB in the country!! This should move the Bruins up in the national recruiting rankings.
What is with this board!?! Jon just mis-wrote. We all know it's not a commit, but a verbal. How in the hell can there be so many post about that!?! Let it go. Anyone else want to comment on the obvious?
CRN and his staff are doing a great job recruiting. It's amazing how many of these so-called "experts" on this blog were panicking a couple of months ago when we hardly had any commits. Even though these are just verbals and we won't get a true picture of what are 2010 class will look like until LOI Day, it's great to hear how many high-caliber players really want to play at UCLA...
I agree with Hardtail. Jon has done a Great Job with out the attitude as with Brian. Any of us who have followed football for any amount of time know you can't sign until February. Keep the good news coming.
24...22...We're heading for the Top 10 this year!!!
Welcome Olaniyan!
Looking forward to seeing you do great things on the field and hearing about you doing well in the classroom!
Go Bruins!
hey i wouldn't worry about him only coming in at 200 lbs - Carnel Lake came in at 200 and his speed was the diff maker....
we need to get faster and more athletic... this is a great get for CRN....
