maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks...

"You're going to have a hard time in every game if you can't stay in front of the basketball (off the dribble, man to man)," he said. "Maybe we'll go to some zone or, at least play softer (man to man) and pack it in and be more help-conscious."

some zone (full court and half court), some box and ones on stars. we are going to need to get creative to use the resources we have on this team. maybe he should mix up the line ups and say only folks who give 100% effort will be starting. there has been some effort lapses and some folks should get more time (bobo moser etc)

Welcome to the wonderful world of mediocrity. SC is getting used to it in football, and now ucla will have to face the sober reality.

Final thoughts on the SC-ucla game:

I was there, and when the controversies began the stadium was 3/4 empty. So few even saw it live.

The fans booed Neuheisel's decision to keep the game alive after SC was attempting to take the high road by taking a knee.

I will admit that the SC fans and I cheered widly for the touchdown because it felt like a Neuheisel pay-back.

The SC kids and coaches were jumping up and down, they do that all the time. It is funny how I have not heard one word about ucla's players marching across the field, across the halfway point even, and ready to have a street fight except for some very aggressive defense work by the ucla coaches to keep them off the SC players. SC taunting does not justify ucla's rank, dangerous retaliation.

The ucla kids stormed off the field after the game except for a few stray players. The SC kids looked like they were ready to walk across the field to greet them, but ucla had already cleared out.

So whattya want, good sportsmanship?--This is SC-ucla, noone likes the other, they're both rude towards one another, so live with it. It ain't gonna change.

Lawyer John,

I gotta say that if I'm ever in need of a lawyer for a criminal defense, I'm hiring you. As a good defense lawyer it's clear that you can defend anything even if you don't believe it.

Can you post your phone number in case I need it?

Don't encourage him. Just tell him to start his own blog so that people that actually want to read his mindless rants can do so and the rest of us can go about our business here...

Zone? Zone? Did I read that right? Did Howland actually say he MIGHT consider playing some ZONE?
