Jordon James to commit on Thursday
Corona RB Jordon James will commit on ESPNU during halftime of the football game between Pulaski Academy and Little Rock Christian, James told Scout.com's Brandon Huffman.
That does not bode well for UCLA, seeing as his official visit is/was planned for Nov. 21.
His final five choices are likely between UCLA, Washington, Notre Dame, Cal and Arizona.

bummer.
Brandon Huffman says he feels good about UCLA's chances - FYI.
With Malcolm Jones, Franklin (stop fumbling), Knox, Thigpen and potentially Darell Scott transferring I could think of worse players to lose. Not saying I don't want him but he is not on my top 10 wish list right now. For what it is worth Greg Biggins @ ESPN has thought he was a UCLA lean for a while.
Jon,
Can you get him on the phone and ask why he decided to announce before is UCLA visit, to try and get a read on how feels about UCLA?
Darrell Scott isnt being recruited by the Bruins for the very reason that they dont want to possibly lose James.
I thought Darrell Scott was going to USC?
Word is that Anthony Barr is down to UCLA and Notre Dame. He cut $C and Kal off his list. If we can get him a loss of James won't hurt. I don't think Scott will end up at UCLA. Both because of the current talent and because of UCLA's tough transfer requirements.
I can see some logic in announcing before his official to UCLA. He's been to campus enough to know if it's a fit or not. Maybe the early announcement is a good thing. Jon, please do some reporter-style work here and fill us in.
D Scott not likely, just not enough spots for him at this point.
J James is a totally different type of back than Barr or Malcom Jones. That is why he is going to UCLA.
As far as his official visit is concerned, I wouldn't worry too much. James was on the UCLA sideline during the Washington game. Rahim Moore had his arm around James one of the times he was mugging for the camera. I think it was just after Moore's INT.
People, if Barr does come to UCLA, he wont be a RB, most likely a WLB or SLB. So there is no relationship between Barr's and James's recruiting.
you sure that wasn't Hester, RH?
Robert Hoffman, that guy that Rahim Morre had his arm around was AARON HESTER, who was held out due to injury. People keep spreading this rumor that it was Jordon James.
lavsmousse
We both know Barr is meant to be a LB, but he still thinks he is meant to be a RB and thinks he is being recruited as such. While in our minds there might not be a relationship between James's and Barr's recruitment there might be in his.
UCLAVES,
Touche
I stand corrected. He probably goes to Cal, then. Wasn't trying to spread false rumors.
BruinLaw08,
UCLA's transfer requirements for athletes aren't any harder than any other school. Especially with the special admits rule.
If UCLA misses out of D. Scott (an exceptional talent) it's their own fault, he was their to lose.
Worst of all, if he doesn't transfer to UCLA he'll fall into the other local Pac-10 school's lap. Which might actually be better for anyone who wants to start these days, the RB corps at USC will be thinner than UCLA's next year.
"UCLA's transfer requirements for athletes aren't any harder than any other school."
Yeah, that must be why Mobley wanted badly to transfer here from OSU, and is trying to go through a JC to do so, but could have gone any number of place right away and will probably end up at ASU in the end. But it's all the same.
It's pretty well known that UCLA's admissions requirements for athletes (including for transfers) ARE stricter than those of most other schools, including every Pac-10 school except for Stanford.
Must admit I am also a little anxious as to Jordan's intentions...I would love to see him as a BRUIN commit as well as Anthony Barr, regardless of position...Where do we stand with Seastrunk? Forgive me for being greedy!!!
Yo, James is a silent to UCLA. Avoid speculation. You're a beat writer.
