On the trail...
UCLA's football coaches have a busy weekend out at local games:
Tonight,
Rick Neuheisel, Chuck Bullough and Todd Howard are at Taft/Garfield (Tuan Woods, Lucky Radley, Brent Williams, etc.)
Friday,
Neuheisel at St. Francis/Gahr (Dietrich Riley)
Saturday
Todd Hundley at Cerritos/Palomar.

Don't forget to get permission before you buzz the field in your whirlybird Ricky. You don't want to alienate any more schools, do you?
i disagree...what better way to win over a football player than pulling a stunt like that and pissing off the stuffy old administators? unless the kid is a sanctimonious goody two shoes (like Bark), in which case he should probably be attending Southern Cal or Neuter Dame.
Go get 'em Rick!!
I love these Trojans who feel so threatened by Neuheisel's recruiting prowess that they are compelled to come and post over here. Just shows that Neuheisel is doing something good. It's like the good ol' days (late 1990s) when we were amidst our 8 game win-streak over the Trojans. We couldn't keep them off of the UCLA boards because all they could think about was UCLA.
Keep doing what you're doin, Rick. The Trojies smell something brewing, and they're gettin' nervous.
Believe it or not, some high school coaches do have the respect of their athletes and might just have a little influence over what schools they consider.
RIck Neuehisel is an amazing recruiter but he puts himself at a disadvantage if other schools coaches are on the sidelines while he's on the street watching the game trough a chain link fence.
And really... "stuffy old administrators" I think you watch a little too much television.
trojans may want to worry more about losing Prater, Scroggins etc. than what Rick's doing this weekend. Anyone figured out what SC without a football team is? Overpriced JC? 4-year trust fund camp with a really unfortunate location?
On Jesse Scroggins:
If Matt Barkley plays anywhere close to his potential then he leaves after his junior year. If Scroggns redshirts then he becomes the starter with three years of eligibility.
There's a strong chance Prater will be lost, which is a shame for him. I don't know who's going to be the Illinois QB the next few years but I'm guessing he won't have the upside of Matt Barkley who will then hand the Heisman torch to Scroggins.
to a high school kid, anyone over the age of 35 is old.
keeping on buzzing CRN, the helicopter is a smart and flashy tool. geez doesn't anyone remember what it's like to be in high school?? if a recruiting coach buzzed my old high school the kids would be talking about it for days if not weeks!
Neuheisel has kind of blown it with some solid local kids. A lot of them feel like they are Plan B guys - they aren't stupid.
In regards to those Taft kids: I see Williams honoring his commitment to UDub. I see Radley heading to the ACC, and Big Twaun becoming a Trojan or Gator - he's a major recruit.
