Would have loved to have seen something posted about this before hearing about Blount!

Why am I not surprised?! I mean, let's see...Oregon defeats USC, loses to Stanford, and is watching its hopes for a major BCS Bowl Game begin to wither...Honestly, Oregon's Administration could have shown more class by staying resolute in its initial suspension of Blount- He CHEAP-SHOTTED another player! We hear all the time about spirit, gamesmanship, to be a "good sport." Oregon's reinstatement suggests ONLY sports.

The decision has no affect on UCLA football so who cares?

Oregon went above and beyond in disciplining this kid. If it was all about football, he would have been back for the SC game.

No surprise Oregon backed down again.

Anyone remember Junior Lemau'u? CJ Niusulu? These were guys I liked as BRUINS, yet were disciplined for violating TEAM rules- gone!!! I don't think any of them swung at an opposing player. All I can say is, when the opportunity to show class presented itself, who has done so?

IMO, the punishment was overly severe. If you look at what happened, Byron Hout, the Boise State player, shoves Blount in the shoulder and then it looks like he says something which can be construed as a taunt, to which Blount reacts by punching him. Or, over-reacts, to be more precise, but it was done in the heat of the moment.

Compare that to the punishment given to Florida's Brandon Spikes, who intentionally tried to gouge the eyes of a Georgia running back at the end of a play. Originally suspended for half a game, Urban Meyer made it a full game suspension. One game for intentionally doing something that might blind someone. THAT deserves a season long suspension, if anything.
