My grades all around for this weekend:
UCLA: B (It WAS against WSU)
New Chat: A
My PBP on chat: B+ (One too man beers)
Jon's PBP on chat: What PBP? LOL
Seriously, B grades all around. If we can do this on Saturday against ASU, than we can start talking about A's.
Any other teams have players in the running for both the Lou Groza and Ray Guy awards this year?
Out of curiosity - Why the C+ for special teams?
Who's Taylor Austin? :)
Answer to Groza/Guy combo question: UCLA and Georgia
Obviously this week, UCLA benefits from being graded on a curve with WSU.
Yes, it's true we definitely played well. Most importantly as a total TEAM for the first time this season. How beautiful was that?! It's great to see some of the bright young talents finally coming into their own- Akeem Ayers in da house!!! "A" effort? Well, okay...But before we get ahead of ourselves, let's remember that the rest of the league along with the nation very recently looked at us as the "patsies." I'm with Bruinova and 9UCLA5 who suggest we wait 'til after BEATING ASU before we are ready to pat ourselves on the back...
A-.... for taking the equivalent of a 5th grade math quiz...
agreed...This was more or less a warm up for ASU. We got them at home. This has lined up for us nicely! The FANS in L.A. need to show up for this one. A crowd over 80k would be nice! This is a big game for the forward progress of this program. There needs to be a big push to get people to this game!
I agree that we shouldn't get too over hyped about a win against Wasu - but there were some bright spots that bode well for next year...
The WR position should be a strenght next year and Ayers will be a beast!!!!
i give the team a B
CNC a genius? come on now.....
Folks, you don't give a kid a "B" just because this week's test was easy. It was an "A" effort. The test was easy. It will get harder the next two weeks. Let's not forget, the teams that UCLA lost too were pretty good. The strength of the schedule was early. The Bruins were not lost to Stanford, 24-16, with Kevin Craft at the Helm on the road. They also lost by "only 14" to Oregon with a rusty Kevin Prince in his first game back. Take a look at USC's performance against those two schools. Two wins against sub-par teams are still wins. Good job Bruins.
Every grade from this game should be "incomplete." You can't grade based on that WSU team.
With the offense getting better, there's even more reason for Kai Forbath to go pro along with the obvious risk-of-injury.
Only a Anon Bruin would be concerned with the kicker leaving early.....Kickers do not leave early.....
This was WSU we are talking about right... subtract 1.25 grade levels from your assessment. And I may still be a little generous.
I think Corey Paus could have run a 68 yard touchdown on them... even after a couple of beers.
