Injuries!

On paper, Keefe, Morgan, Anderson, Lee, Roll, Drago and Gordon is a nice 7 man rotation to have if they make some improvement over last year.

If one or two of the frosh - Honeycutt, Nelson, Moser, Lane and Stover, chip in a bit this team can contend for the Pac-10, but any injuries will cause problems (especially in the backcourt)...we're already seeing the problems of not being able to practice together.

yeah, looks like ucla bball won't be too much of a relief from ucla football this year, but im hoping the prediction that ucla will start slow but finish strong holds true.

The thing that worries me far more than any of the things listed is the atrocious defense we saw last night. Remember that Howland teams thrive on tough defense -- it makes up for offensive droughts and it results in easy baskets. Even a nervous freshman that misses every shot can play decent defense. The decline we have seen over the last two years has coincided with the departure of big time defensive stoppers (Afflalo, the Prince, Love, Westbrook and now Collison). Now I am afraid that nobody is going to fill those shoes. People have been saying that Lee is the most likely to play that role, but I didn't see it last night.
