Ajawara picks ASU

Tesoro offensive lineman Sil Ajawara, the No. 74 offensive guard in the country by ESPN.com, verbally commited to Arizona State, Scout.com reported.

“It really was about the comfort level,” Ajawara told Scout.com. “I felt that this is the place I really could go out and be passionate about what I’m doing, and hopefully make an impact as soon as possible. It was the right place for me.”

UCLA already has commitments on the line from guard Chris Ward out of Mater Dei and tackle Kody Innes out of Scottsdale, Ariz. The Bruins are still going after guard Wade Yandall out of Carson.

“Just taking to them made me think a lot about going to ASU,” Ajawara told Scout.com. “My parents wanted me to go out and see what every school had to offer, which I did. After looking at all the schools I was interested in I knew Arizona State is where I wanted to be. I just sat down with my family and made the decision.

“I didn’t want to wait much longer and my parents said that if I felt this was the right place for me, that’s where I should go and that they would be there behind me. So I’m a Sun Devil now.”
