Follow-up on UCLA/UT in 2010
After talking with UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel, it appears the UCLA-Texas game for 2010 is still on, but there might be a little schedule shift.
"I have been told that there are some talks as to the reshuffling of the schedule, but I don't think it means we're playing anybody different," Neuheisel said. "I think it's just a time thing. I don't know exactly what the dates are. Who's on the schedule is who we're playing."
That's the only important thing for Neuheisel: A date with national championship game-bound Texas.
"This opportunity is exactly what college football is all about; it's just like going to Tennessee," Neuheisel said. "It's a huge memory, a great opportunity. It's what the fans all crave. I think it's a terrific thing."

DAMN STRAIGHT, Coach!!!
Thanks for being on top of this Jon.

OK, let's schedule this quickly since I got to plan my wedding around it.
Thanks for getting us ALL worked up Jon.
I've heard the original schedule had UCLA/UT on either Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur...and that's the reason for the push to reschedule.
Yes. Yom Kippur is on September 18th. It would be great if this game could be pushed to the 25th. Plus, it would give UCLA two weeks to prepare for Texas. y
Its Yom Kippur, but I don't see that as a reason to reschedule. How many Jewish kids would be playing in the game anyway?
The earlier we play Texas the better, they are breaking in a new QB next season.
How about dealing with this after the bowl game? you know, the one the team got spirit for by ditching practice. Return to tradition, what a joke. how about reviving the tradition of winning bowl games.
BTW, what else did they do on ditch day. Study game film on their own, get ready for next quarter's classes, go to the local mountains to get used to D.C. weather?
The Bruins have a poor track record when they play on Jewish holidays; they should move the game. Plus, there's lots of Jewish alumns from both UCLA and UT...nobody cares if Texas Tech plays UT on Yom Kippur because Jews don't go to Tech!!
As long as we don't anger the football gods, play the game as scheduled. We are going to need all the heavenly support we can get.
How 'bout we just dump Kansas State off the schedule so they can play Northeastern Kansas Tech Community College instead (didn't Kansas State want out anyways?), and have UCLA-Texas as the opening game (and have it moved to Jerry World a.k.a. the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium)?
