Happy Holidays, folks
Hey guys,
Just wanted to drop a quick note, as I just landed in Washington, D.C., to cover the EagleBank Bowl.
I hope everyone out there is having a wonderful holiday season, and a Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. For those who celebrate Festivus like the rest of us, have a great day, too.
I fully understand that I don't have a job if I don't have a devoted readership, and I certainly understand that there are other options out there, as well. Every comment - good or bad - is appreciated, and quite frankly, I think it's really cool that there are folks out there like you all who care enough to take the time to engage in such a dialogue.
Thank you all for reading, as always, and I'll be back tomorrow with a practice update, some Temple notes From the Other Side and more.
Thanks again, and once more, Happy Holidays,
Jon

Well, it is Christmas Day, a day of reconciliation and reflection, a day where kindness and gentleness should shine.
And so I am going to say nothing but good things about ucla today. But today only!-- I just toured the entire campus for the first time in my life (I always thought ucla only consisted of Westwood Blvd into Pauley Pavilion, and that was it), but I was overtaken by the serenity, massiveness and beauty of the college grounds. Of course not having any people around helped with the serenity scene.
And as for all my friends on this blog, I say to you, let's get along a little bit better in 2010. Only kidding!
LAWYER JOHN
So, how's the weather there in D.C., Jon? Could you, perhaps, do a little piece on how our players are reacting to the weather? It would be much appreciated. Frankly, I think the weather won't affect Bruins anymore than Owls, but it would be nice to hear what the players think.
Thanks for all you do. You've done a terrific job. I particularly enjoy the podcast with Ben Olson. Happy Festivus!
Strong work Jon
Breaking News, as Jon would say, George Uko committed to Sc today.
BE REAL:
I think you suffer from Bruin Envy!!!!
BruinFaithful has always carped unmercifully. I guess Christmas Day is no different than any other day in his/her life.
Thanks Jon,
Your coverage of UCLA is much appreciated, and I for one think you have surpassed your predecessors. I hope UCLA has got their focus for the game. I'm sure Temple will have theirs.
Happy Holidays to all,
Rick
Did Neu botch the recruitment of Uko? My sense is Uko would have jumped at an offer in Oct/Nov, but Neu backed off for some reason (that according to Uko's dad). Oh, well, it's not like we need a 4 or 5-star DT...
Uko has been a silent SC commit since the season began, plus the kids high school head coach doesnt like ucla either.
Jon - I heard from Uko's coach... he's going to SC.
g2ucla,
Why doesn't the head coach like UCLA?
Is Uko's high school the one that wanted to ban Neuheisel from the school for the helicopter stunt?
It was Pullards HS coach who supposedly wanted to ban Neu.
i thought it was Shirley's HS
Youre right, it was Shirleys coach
I graduated from the same high as Uko, and go to all the games. His coach is a real hot head, arrogant guy. Ucla went to one of his games and said he lacked all out effort, and intensity each and every play. He took way too many plays off, and really took his potential for granted. He really was a beast at the camp's, and really wasnt the same player on gameday's. Uko's coach got really upset, and spoke bad about ucla ever since. Seeing him wear $C stuff on the Lugo campus, and tell people he was going to commit to $C since the begininng of his Sr year.
screw uko. he's just another usc bagman now. he'll really like sc when the ncaa slaps em with some sanctions. ucla just needs to tend to their own business, we can't be fixated on what the mouthbreathers are doing.
HAHA Spedjones, I love it man...
you can make it up by getting that first interview with Owa when he orally, er, verbally commits.
