Sources confirmed UCLA freshman guard Stanley Hasiak was sent home to Hawaii today and was unlikely to return. Hasiak dealt with personal issues throughout the season, even returning home to Hawaii before UCLA's matchup with Oregon in October.

It is unlikely he'll return for the bowl game? Ever? for next season?

Jon - Apparently, your source is the LA Times. Honestly, Jon, that's all the scoop you can get on this?

This kid should be cut loose and allowed to transfer.

His best bet would be a transfer to Hawai'i to be near people who can offer him the stability he seems to need at this point in his life.

Tranferring anywhere else will not help him overcome the issues that he seems to be contending with.

Yes, what does "unlikely to return" mean? You, the LA Times, and Scout are all reporting the exact same thing without explanation how someone over 18 can be "sent home."

I wonder if they're being vague b/c they want to protect the kid. Dohn never liked to come out and say grades would keep a kid out b/c he had tact and class. Might be what's happening here...

Apparently Boston Bruin knows exactly what happened though. Can't reasonably make the conclusions he's drawing otherwise...

This sort of smells like a Jelani McCoy situation.

There were certain situations going on regarding his interactions with those in the football program.

Doubt it's academic. I mean, the story just below Hasiak being sent home is Presley and Maiava being academically ineligible for the EagleBank Bowl. Mercy Jon, I think you need to do a bit investigative work. After all, You should be as close to this situation as anyone.

Jon, any more info what "unlikely to return" means?

Is he done with UCLA forever? Until after winter break? Anything? You gotta know this is important to know.

I agree w/ Mikey...this blog has definitely lost its luster...the information presented here can be found quicker on other sites...and now with launch of ESPN Los Angeles.com, there's more competition. How will this blog work to stand out?

I doubt he'll be back. Too many strikes.

What on earth does "certain situations...regarding his interactions with those in the football program" mean, exactly? Rather than give us gibberish like that tell us what happened and why he's leaving.

Geesh, you guys, he's giving us what he thinks he can reasonably give us right now. Give him and this young athlete a little room, fer cryin out loud. When he can say more he will.

And to think some were once worried Stan was going to go on a Mormon mission. I guess if he did now, that would really be a sign of mental instability.

Anonymous "D" as in bag

Didn't see the two "seems" I used in my conjecture?

Obviously you're not a UCLA grad, otherwise you'd be able to understand simple sentences. I even broke them out so you'd not have to struggle through a compound clause.

That effort was in vain.

Kid came in with a 2.8 GPA out of High School, you really think that could cut it at UCLA?
