Norm Chow is not interested in the opening at San Jose State. He has made it clear.

Jon,

How often does someone who was part of a coaching staff admit they want another job before it's offered?

Exactly.

HOW. IS. PRINCE'S. ARM???????? Seriously. How can you not report ANYTHING about it?

Texts between Jon Gold and Norm Chow after Chow takes a head coaching job at SJSU.

Jon Gold: Norm you told me you didn't want the job.

Norm Chow: HAHAHA Oh crap! My bad! Uhh... HAHA Hit me up later.

What is everyone's problem...lighten up, gesh! Jon's post on Norm Chow is the first thing I've seen that has Chow's reaction rather than just random journalists who live 500 miles away saying what they think.

BruinFaithful Author Profile Page said:

What's you Deal:

Maybe you don't get around enough. I was wondering when Jon was finally going to report on this. Since this was reported originally in the SJ Mercury News last night.

http://blogs.mercurynews.com/collegesports/2009/12/02/sjsu-football-updating-the-coaching-search/

And Chris Foster got a reaction from Norm over 6 hours ago.

Jon, maybe you should subscribe to Chris's Twitter, since he constantly seems to be so far ahead of the curve on scoops than you.

BruinFaithful Author Profile Page said:

Jon,

"I heard he just laughed" Jon, when are you going to start sourcing news, rather than just reporting it from other sources? How could you not get a reaction from Norm directly on this? We expect more.

Sid said:

Danny,

Listen to the latest podcast. They talk about Prince's shoulder injury. Out 3-6 weeks w/ seperated shoulder.

Dohn would know.

Foster's doesn't cover UCLA hoops for the Times. David Wharton does. Gold covers both for the DN. I am sure his plate is plenty full with all other the other services he provides for the blog like the podcast, in game chats, Q&As.

Gold provides more than the Times, Register, Press Enterprise combined. Even more than the paysites. Instead of whining, people should appreciate the services since they are FREE!!!!!!!!!

And here is a crazy idea, if you don't like the information here, you can always go elsewhere!

DonkeyBruin Author Profile Page said:

agreed.

Back off of Jon. But, it would be nice to see more stories, since we're just SUCH HUGE avid Bruin fans.

(less than 46k for our last rose bowl game... seriously?)

Nothing like fan entitlement to liven up the blog.

Anonymous said:

Jon, you're doing great work. The podcasts are a great addition to the blog and I'm sure it takes a ton of time. I for one appreciate the extra time and effort, especially considering it's a one man show covering the Bruins for the DN. The rest of the complainers can go elsewhere. Their sense of entitlement will lead them nowhere other than looking for handouts.

Jon provides a mass load of great information! I'm tired of reading all of the dumas's comments that are just complaints.

more bad news!!! I would love to see chow leave!!!!

"HOW. IS. PRINCE'S. ARM???????? Seriously. How can you not report ANYTHING about it?"

you do realize, that as of right now, UCLA does not have any more football games to play, right?

DFlinn said:

People need to lay off Jon and stop comparing him to Dohn. Jon has been here for what? a few months? Dohn was here for six years. It takes time to build sources, build a relationship with coaches and the school, including HS coaches and the like. For what he was given, Jon has done more than a respectable job and is giving us everything he can with the little resources he has. Give it time.

Why are you morons being so mean to Jon Gold? We should be appreciative of the fact that this blog is free. Jon, we love the hard work you put in. I'm also your # 1 fan. Keep up the good work!

Jon, a little off topic here, but are you single and bi-curious? If so, I can show you a great time. Call Dohn for a reference.

Jon, good work on the scoop. if people think they can get better info someplace else, then they should just look there and shut the hell up.

BE REAL Author Profile Page said:

Actually, what posters say on a blog should never be a surprise. Although it is somewhat surprising how Jon Gold is being harshly picked on over here. Of course, SC's Scott Wolf really gets pelted, people questioning his sexual preference, his intelligence etc.

But what people write, and what they say to your face are usually quite different animals.

Thanks, Jon. Great news. We need to stop the OC revolving door. Does anyone remember Jay Norvell or any of the other OC's during KD's tenure?

Also, when will the Q&A be posted?

Thanks!

Randorson said:

I'm starting to wonder if he's interested in the OC job at UCLA. (I keed, I keed)

BTW, Notre Dame is said to decide today whether they will accept any forthcoming bowl invites. UCLA will likely take their place in the GMAC or Humanitarian bowls should they choose to decline and provided that Hawaii loses tomorrow to preserve an at-large spot for a 6-6 team.

UB (Ultimate Bruin) Author Profile Page said:

OK, so who is the Azzhole that posted at 9:15 AM using my screen name? Nice try, doooochebag.

Needless to say, that 9:15 post was not the REAL UB.

BTW, whoever the doooochebag is, give me a call at 714-309-9677 after you finish whatever you now do after getting off on being a total sh!thead. I'd like to give you a piece of my mind over the phone.

UB (Ultimate Bruin) Author Profile Page said:

Also, notice that the scum bucket that hijacked my screen name does not have the blue 'author profile' link next to the name. Clearly, a recreation of my screen name. So, give me a call numbnuts. Oh, I forgot, you don't have any ballz.

Hey UB,

Why would you want the impostor to call you? What would that accomplish? Is it because he's bi-curious?

UB (Ultimate Bruin) Author Profile Page said:

No, Pakistani. You know better than that. I just want to rail on him or her or it. If the imposter in smart, "it" won't call. If "it" does, "it" better use a secure line :) :)

PakistaniBruin said:

So if "it" fails to use a secure line, what happens?

Anonymous said:

Any calls yet UB? Keep us posted.

UB (Ultimate Bruin) Author Profile Page said:

LOL. No, not yet! I don't suspect the doooochebag will call. But, you'll be the first to know!

Charlie Bucket Author Profile Page said:

concerning Chow: i still say something is not right here. the O-Line was much better this year meaning the QB's were not under extreme pressure like last year. the receivers were ok and yes the RB's underperformed, but all in all, the offense still was very poor given the talent level we have. to not be able to score on USC or ASU's defense (1 td in 2 games) is crazy for the end of the season offense.

so even though the price is right, i say we should consider going in another direction. i have no reason to be confident next year will be a LOT better which is what we need to move into the upper half of the Pac10. and if Chow takes this SJS job, that makes it easy.

Pakistani - meet me at the Abbey tonight at 10.

PakistaniBruin said:

Well I had to google the Abbey. West Hollywood, eh? Not my cup of tea, but now I understand you giving out your number to that gay/bi-curious fella. No worries though; to each his own.

UB (Ultimate Bruin) Author Profile Page said:

Pakistani,

Again, of course, that was not me. See the missing blue icon?

Interesting that this imposter knows about WH hotspots. Even more intersting that you looked it up, Pakistani.

Lol...has he called yet?

UB you should have never posted your number. im sure it is being pasted on every West Hollywood bar bathroom stall followed by "for a good time and free reach around call me" LOL

PakistaniBruin said:

Dex,

Not sure how I can prove it considering I'm not a registered user, however, if my word counts, I'm indeed the real PakistaniBruin.

UB, there is nothing wrong with being bi-curious. In my younger years while at USC, I dabbled in it quite a bit. Just doing the normal experimentation like every red-blooded American boy. So just accept yourself the way you are and you will find hapiness.
