Post-practice update
In their penultimate tune-up for the EagleBank Bowl with Temple, the Bruins were aggressive yet unrefined on Tuesday.
Kevin Prince missed some throws as he continues to improve from a mild shoulder separation.
"We still have to have sharper days," UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel said. "Kevin is better, but he's not 100 percent yet. That may be why I'm not willing to say it was a great practice. We're still not sharp yet. He's not complaining of pain, he's just not sharp yet. He's got to improve between now and game-time."
If Prince isn't able to play...
"Well then we have another Kevin, who is dying to play again, and he has been sharp," Neuheisel said. "I think there's reason for optimism. I just want to make sure we've got healthy, consistent players out there."
One player still a bit banged up is Reggie Carter, who was at odds with Chuck Bullough today.
Bullough wanted Carter to participate in a tackling drill and emphatically let him know his feeling, at one point ordering him off the field.
"He and Chuck had a disagreement over a tackling drill," Neuheisel said. "Reggie's trying to get back from a knee injury and he didn't think he could and Chuck thought he could, so they had a disagreement. Chuck excused him, and now they're over there hashing it out."
Neuheisel would not comment on the Stan Hasiak situation: "He's gone home, and we'll revisit it after the holidays."

Nothing to be concerned about here. This is team fired up and ready to go. Move along.
You mean the next-to-last tune-up before Christmas, right? -- since the bowl game isn't until Dec. 29th --and we need all the tuning-up we can get.
I hope there is a game time clear headed decision regarding the ability of Prince to play. There is nothing to be gained by again ruining the Bruins chances of winning the game by playing someone who should be sitting.
plenty to be concerned about. in light of OSU and Cal sound defeats ( raising doubts how good the Pac-10 is nationally) , plus the predictable lopsided crowd and weather they'll be facing, the Bruins need to get focused and refined very quickly... but don't hurry
I think the national media gives too much credit to conferences that win or lose low-level bowl games.
