Quotables: Malcolm Lee
On what the team needs to do:
"Just to go out there and play hard. Mississippi State, the whole team came to the conclusion that we didn't play hard and didn't play with intensity. In the second half we tried to play aggressive, but it was too late. That's where our experience comes from. That's where consistency comes from. Good teams play with hard intensity and they compete every night. We just have to build on this game and keep playing hard."
On outsiders' high expectations:
"Most definitely I think they have high expectations for us; our class was highly recruited coming in and a lot of key players from last year left early. It is a burden on us to put on our shoulders."
On Tyler Honeycutt:
"Tyler coming in, he's a big man in a guard's body. He gets rebounds and pushes it himself. He gives us opportunities for second boards and offensive opportunities. When he's in, he's a highly touted athlete. He makes our team that much quicker and that much more athletic."

"it is a burden on us to put on our shoulders"?
I can't believe that Lee would think this is a burden, these guys were recruited to come in and achieve greatness from day 1, it is now their second year in the system and instead of rising to the challange, he is acting like a victim!!! WoW
I watched his interview after the game the other night. He just has a hard time with interview.
I think he meant to say, he is a 'guard in a big mans body'
Honeycutt was a guard till about his junior year when he grew. That is what makes him so versatile.
We have yet to see his stroke, hopefully he starts knocking down 15 footers with ease.
the entire team looked good the other night. When Nelson and Honeycutt are in, they are active on the boards, so was Lee. Need to get BoBo active when he is in. He stands around and watches too much.
I think he meant "The burden is on us, we need to put it on our shoulders"
But regardless, every player should give 100% every night!
i don't think malcom meant it like that. this is his year to step up, and he's got the skills and athleticism to do it. i think he's up for the challenge.
I think Malcolm needs glasses.
'Tyler coming in, he's a big man in a guard's body'
Tyler Honeycutt is 6'8, though he does need to put on some muscle. I know he's gotten some rebounds so far, but he is truly a marksman. So I would argue that he's more of a guard mentally in a big man's body.
Regardless, if he can keep from getting snapped in half by driving into a paint towards guys that outweigh him by 50-100lbs, he'll be a great bruin.
I think he meant to say "Bruin basketball is back and me and my homies be gellin'."
