Quotables: Taylor Embree

On emulating Arizona, which beat BYU last season in the Las Vegas Bowl:
"You want to end the season on a good note, and luckily for us, we get another chance. Arizona - a perfect example. They ended on a good note, beat BYU in the Vegas Bowl, and it led to this season. It just gives your team more confidence, a little more swag having that victory. As a team, you can't just get there in one try; you don't just go to the national championship or to the Rose Bowl."

On playing in a bowl under Rick Neuheisel:
"None of us have had a bowl game experience - we're all rookies right now in this experience. If we want to play in the Rose Bowl in the next two years, we can't just get there and be shell-shocked. This is a great preparation for us, seeing how bowl weeks work, managing your down time. This is kind of practice for future bowls."

I think these kind of entries are my least favorite on the blog. while it's good to get the player's perspective, simply pasting athlete-speak and coach-speak quotes smacks of laziness. i don't even read these entries anymore because they're all predictable and all basically sound the same.

i'd much rather have a jon gold-written summary of anything interesting/important that was said, maybe gold's personal take on the subject, and then and maybe a line or two of an actual quote thrown in for good measure. I think many readers would agree.

do people really create other accounts that correlate with there message? yoda is cool, but ones like this are kinda weird.. its prolly the same ip address as your other account

MaltBaa: should be - correlate with *their* message. Is it possible these people are not worried about Jon Gold knowing their other username? Is it likely that they are concerned with the other blog readers instead?

MaltBaa -

I didn't miss those items, I was just making sure my underwear was still up my @$$, so I decided to let them pass.

You can tell because there's no icon in between their "name" and the word "said".

The Don Key Author Profile Page said:

The Don Key has decided to comment for the first time since Sir Brian Dohn left this esteemed blog Inside ucla. The Don Key is acutely pleased with John Gold's coverage of ucla. The Don Key feels that Mr. John Gold has proven he is ready for the big leagues by keeping certain characters such as "UB" and "VB" in line. I do wish to see my comrade known as the pristine Lawyer John one day return to this prodigious blog and help keep it entertaining.
Meanwhile USC's blog continues to be a travesty of sorts which leaves me to believe that the end of USC's preponderance is really upon us.
I will now delightedly again welcome my duty as King of this esteemed blog Inside ucla with John Gold.

As always,

God Bless
