Urban Meyer out at Florida and effect on UCLA recruiting
With the breaking news that Florida head coach Urban Meyer is now leaving Florida, UCLA's recruiting prospects might change a bit.
The Bruins and Gators are both going after the following players: RB Lache Seastrunk, DE Ronald Powell, OL Seantral Henderson, S Dietrich Riley, DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa, CB Demetrius Wright and OG Torrian Wilson.
Palmdale CB Josh Shaw committed to the Gators in November, but might re-open recruitment now with Meyer gone.

Him stepping down does not effect UCLA recruiting so much as it does USC.
Now, R. Powell and J. Shaw are likely to become Trojans.
Let me be the first to start an interesting senario. Do you think UF leadership will put in a call to Pete Carroll?
Well, it's not like we are the only two schools going after these players. Not sure how much impact the resigning will have on UCLA.
Powell according to rivals.com is only high on suc and Florida. Henderson has no interest on UCLA. Maybe things will change and we can land a couple of these elite guys. However, if anything, it seems like Meyer's resignation will favor suc more than UCLA. CRN and staff have lots of work to do in January! Let's hope for the best!
The biggest impact is on Owa, who had great things to say about his Florida visit. This will likely tip the balance in our favor
I really only see this as hurting UCLA as it means USC will pick 2-3 stud players who would have otherwise gone to Florida. UCLA just doesn't have the clout yet to bring in multiple 5-star guys.
So what you seem to be saying is that women's athletics are less important than men's and that volleyball and soccer are not worthy sports? Any team that wins a division one ncaa championship men's or women's has unbelievable athletes and has to be freaking outstanding and the championship counts. Is football the only sport that matters? USC has won 12 national titles in volleyball, six men's and six women's, and won the women's soccer title two years ago. I guess they don't count. USC has 11 mythological football championships that shouldn't count either since there were no playoffs.
"11 mythological football championships that shouldn't count"???? WTF??? We paid good money for those rings!
I mean really, do you have any idea how much a used Range Rover costs these days?
SC's 11 national titles in football don't count towards the "official" national championships' tally.
Owa's not considering Florida anymore, just UCLA and Nebraska, with us in the lead. Shaw always had Ohio State as his No. 2, but he could fall back closer to home - no reason UCLA should consider itself out of the picture if that happens. If he lands at SC, I like our chances with Riley then. In any event, it does more for SC than UCLA.
STUNNING development. Maybe Meyer knows something we don't know. Might be some front running or inside trading going on here. Stay tuned for further developments.
Seems to be GREAT news for Kiffin and Co., but not for College FB fans worldwide. How fun would it have been to watch those two go at it for years?
