Remember when VB and his daddy wnet all crazy and wanted to pull Nelsons scholarship because he got hurt playing football?? Funny how he's the teams best player.
Please don't tease Vb and his daddy too much. They are the only Bruin example that comes close to the arrogance, entitlement, and spoiled brattiness of the suc ilk.
Wow, everyone keeps talking about me and the paperbag on my head. I didn't have it on because of the basketball team, I just couldn't find my sandwich so I was looking really deeply in the bag. I ended up not finding it. :( If anyone sees my sandwich, please fax it to me.
Excuse me, but Reeves playing football in his last year was and is stupid. Fortunately, he recovered from the injury, but others have not (e.g., Sheller). And remeber, Reeves inuury came on the heels of Sheller's stupid ATV accident in the off-season.
Scholarship atheletes are rewarded with an opportunity for a free education at a top-notch University. They need to respect that opportunity and do their best to be prepared and healthy to play.
And please forgive VB and I for being die-hard Bruin homers. In my humble opinion, UCLA could use a lot more fans like us and not the namby-pamby bandwagon whiners that most of you are accustomed to.
GO BRUINS! FRY THE OWLS!
So you're sticking by your pull-the-scholarship idea?
Just admit when you're wrong...
Only when I'm wrong!
[Special note to Bahb, because I know you monitor my every post: Urban Meyer? ROFLMAO. Can't be a heart issue, because he has no heart! Just like Billy the Kid -- when he sees his franchise about to graduate, he runs like a little girl with wet panties. Then, he changes his mind because he is a wimp. What a dooooche!]
UB-
So you think Reeves scholarship should be pulled?
Who cares what UB thinks. Dude cannot even spell "douche" correctly. Instead, let us rejoice that BH is making the decisions around here and not consulting Dohn's groupies before he does it...
#1. I know how to spell. Just trying to avoid the language filters. Apparently, DN does not filter out douche.
#2. Evidently, several people care what UB and VB think, because they follow our every post with re-posts of their own. Personally, I don't care what most of you think about my posts. I do not write them for your edification.
#3. At the time he injured himself, had it been allowed to pull his schollie AND -- and this is a big AND -- AND another equal of greater forward was available, then yes, pull the schollie. Now it is a moot point.
#4 BH makes his decisions without consulting UB -- in case you were wondering. (Morons!)
Reeves didn't mean in any way shape or form to disgrace his commitment to the greatest university in the land by playing football. For crying out loud, the kid just wanted to have fun and enjoy his senior year playing a sport he also happens to enjoy (something athletic that you and your son probably can't relate to)! We should pull your posting privileges for sounding like such an ignorant fool!
Reeves was not a two-sport athelete. He was never going to play FB at D1 level. So, he had 'fun' at what could have been the expense of the BB program. Reasonable minds can differ on this one -- and i agree that we disagree. I detest 'one-and-done' players, too. Most of you tools drip over the flash in the pan hot dogs. Again, no harm in stating your own opinion. Disagree if you like.
Suggestion: But if you do not like or agree with my posts, and can't sleep at night because of them, try ignoring them. I know I would like that a lot better!
Just curious -
Should a player have his scholarship pulled for going on a ski trip? How about water skiing? How about driving on the freeway for anything other than an absolute necessity? (Since as we all know, MVA's are one of the most common causes of death/injury to young healthy males.)
Point being, exactly what are the activities that are too dangerous for a scholarship athlete to participate? Could someone perhaps print out a list?
Thanks.
