"Carroll was fully expected to be introduced by the Seahawks as early as Monday."

We really shouldn't be excited about getting Pete the Cheat out of Southern Cal. Yes, because just about anybody they replace him with will be an upgrade in coaching. We should focus on getting our program to a better talent level, with or without Cheat across town. Jack del Rio is their best bet, and if they get him, but not the death penalty, it will only be a speed bump.

To the fool above. Lets see the last 5 coaches before him did nothing. Before Pete Carol came to USC my favorite trivia question to my USC friends was "Name the only Pac 10 school who hasn't finished in the AP Top 10 at least once this decade?". Answer: USC.

Yep Carrol was a bomb from day 1 and anyone who comes in with the recruiting advantage of a school about to get the NCAA whack is sure to do better. :) :) :) :)

PS I hope all Trojans feel this way today because it is going to be great seeing them moan and groan after they realize how much they took this "GREAT Collage Coach" for granted. Even more so in a few years when he bombs out with Seattle and wins big at another collage.

I completely agree. UCLA had won 8 straight...then he came and things changed. This can only be good for the Bruins. Especially if the NCAA comes down on USC.
Sure we would rather just beat them straight up man to man, but when one sides cheats and we end up on the losing end because of it, it's nice to see it all come crashing down around them!

What a wuss... Pete just can't be man enough to face the inevitable:
1. NCAA putting the clamp and hammer down
2. UCLA is out-recruiting him
3. His sly smiles and mediocre team are not getting the royal treatment from ESPN and recruiters anymore

The reason carroll is leaving Los Angeles is apparently due to a bad breakup with Jill Painter! Can Jill kiss his a$$ more? Don't take it too hard, Jill. For carroll, you will never be #1. That's football. Matt Barkley is #2. You at best take #3. Better stock up on tissues at Costco today, Jill.

Prater isn't enrolled early at USC anymore. Congrats on Demetrius Wright but that will be the last piece of good news you will hear for a while.

Not talking about Wright - I just watched him commit at the Army Game. It's the rest of your killer class, plus the ones on the fence you need to worry about.

The fact that D. Riley - a SC lean is all of a sudden on a surprise official to UCLA is proof enough.

anon @ 0950: I won't call you a fool because that is not the way I treat fellow Bruin fans, but let's say you could stand a little logic help. You look at Cheat as the reason for SUC's success this decade, just like a lot of the media has spoon-fed you. Sometimes, the real reason is not so readily apparent. Why not look into what conscious decision was made at SUC before Pete was hired, what caused the floodgates to open for all the Reggie Bush-like talent there. Do some research, young Bruin. Any coach could win with SUC's talent, it was not great coaching, like the lakceys write (oops - spelling error - that's "PLASCHKE"), it is financially enhanced recruiting. Any coaching credit during that time whould have to go to coach NC, not Cheat.

You could also pay for insider info and read what your recruits are saying. Hint - Prater, Baxter (now the Army player of the year) - less than thrilled.

And you're kidding yourself if you think this isn't about UCLA. Turmoil at Fig Tech means a better shot at Zumwalt, Pullard, Woods, Uko, Riley...the list goes on Jim. The list goes on.

You must be the desperate one in mentioning UCLA non-sports employees in an email. What university in under NCAA investigation for football and already got caught for basketball? What university has a heisman trophy murderer? Keep trying to convince yourself that nobody is scared of your football team anymore. You won 1 championship in Caroll's era. Florida and Texas have better programs and they aren't under investigation.

It will if Woods decommits. It'll mean something for Hayes Pullards recruit. I could mean something for Uko. You're willing blind if you don't think that it's a two school battle for most LA kids. Prater is a midwest kid, all that was out here for him was Snake Oil.
