Can we stop now?
Norm Chow, perhaps the top offensive coordinator in college football, will continue in that role at UCLA, it was announced today.
"I appreciate the interest from USC and Lane Kiffin, but I feel we are building something special here at UCLA and I am excited about our future," said Chow, who has coached three Heisman Trophy winners during his illustrious career. "We have some outstanding young players in the program and we are working hard on finishing strong in recruiting."
"We are thrilled that Norm is going to continue as our offensive coordinator," said head coach Rick Neuheisel. "As Norm said, we are building something special at UCLA and he is certainly a very important part of the package. We have unfimished business here at UCLA and our coaches and players are very excited about our future. I'm glad Norm wants to finish what he's started. UCLA is a special place to call home."

FINALLY.
Bring on the weekend recruits!
I'm with ya Norm! I'm with ya Rick! Can't wait until kickoff 2010. . . .
This is all a SMOKE SCREEN. Saban said the same thing to the Dolphins. Urban Meyer said similar. Kiff was in for the long haul with UT until his DREAM JOB opened up for him at home. Now, this is Chow's DREAM JOB to be the OC at good ol 'SC where he can produce more Heisman Winners and add to his legacy at the end of his career. We have very wealthy and successful (read $$$) USC FB Boosters who will find Chow's price and bring him home. Probably happen after national signing day just to allow Chow and the Bruins to save face, but it WILL HAPPEN.
CHOW IS COMING HOME!!
BE REAL
BE DENIAL,
Get over it, money can't buy everything, as you are finding out the hard way.
Go Bruins!!!
I am the fat lady, and I just sang.
Chow is staying put. Taste defeat again, Trojans. And get used to it because more is coming.
BE REAL? how about you "fight OFF" and get back to loaning your Land Rover to another SC player?????
How would a scenario in which Chow bolts after signing day equate to UCLA "saving face?" That would cause more chaos than if he chose to make the move 1 week (or even 1 day) before. At least then the recruits could assess their options and not feel duped. That, BE REAL, is about as far-fetched as far-fetched gets. I'd just chalk this up under the Trojans' L column and move on if I were you.
VB = Still not a UCLA alumnus or student.
BE REAL......don't be delusional. Norm does not want to work for a sleeze bag like Lane.
Typical SUC delusional fan. HE REJECTED YOU GUYS, MOVE ON!!!!
be real keeps throwing around words like "powerful" "wealthy" and "successful" to describe people at USC like he needs to convince himself to feel better or something. it's cute.
I'm just a trojan fan in denial that knows his program is screwded and stuck with a non winning rookie coach.
Question posed to Trojans:
Why is everyone turning on Kiffin and asking for Garrett's head?
Garrett is a smart man! He knows that Raider Nation is a huge part of the 'SC fanbase. Kiffin as a former HC of the Raiders makes the transition from Carroll that much easier!
Fight On!
Just repeat what I posted on Wolf's post.
All that cheating and carroll could only win ONE title in nine years? AP titles don't count anymore but you Trojans are in denial thinking you've won two in this so call "dynasty".
Sanctions coming!!!!!!! Kiffin and Oreo will put the nails in the coffin for SUC!!!!!!!!! OJ for OC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Garrett a lame duck!!!!!!!!!!!! KILL ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kill ON Forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG- great news- now let's all move on and impress those recruits. This has been a tough roller coaster ride for the past few days and I have been on this blog way too much and need to detox!!!
Chow:
If you roll in the mud with pigs...You get dirty
Stay Classy Chow
Go Bruins!
Coach Chow just gave suc a big F U!!!!
I am one of a number of USC fans still surprised that Kiffin was hired but my guess is he was really hired b/c he would bring in his father and Orgeron (a USC favorite) on staff.
I was even more shocked that Chow's name was mentioned as the new USC OC considering that Kiffin and Chow don't like each other and both guys work on the offensive side of the ball. Does anybody know what USC and UCLA offered Chow? I would be curious to see the numbers and numbers of years.
Personally I would have preferred Del Rio or Coach Walker b/c I think if Walker was offered the USC HC position then Chow would have probably made the move considering that both of them have a good relationship.
On a serious note and more cordial note, I wish the UCLA team good luck next season with the exception of our annual game. The rivalry will definitely be more tense now with Kiffin and Neuheisel on the sidelines.
ESPN Shelly Smith reports Karl Dorrell next OC at suc.
