Cooper apologizes for comments

He can apologize all he likes, but from now on, whenever I see him or his name is brought up, all I have to say is "F-CK Cooper!"

His 15 minutes of fame was up 20 years ago. He got lucky riding on the coattails of Kareem, Jaamal, Magic, Worthy, Scott, etc...to his 5 rings. He is a non-factor in sports today.

The only coaching he'll ever do is WBB at SUC, where there's a lack of institutional control under a lame duck AD. He's pretty much on par of what's going on over there. Maybe he feels he's being left out of all the attention on floyd/carroll/kiffin. He'll never coach in the NBA again or WNBA for that matter.

I always had a lot of admiration for Michael both as a player and a coach. He continues to be an excellent coach, but apology notwithstanding he has lost my respect by making such a nasty inane comment in the first place. It is below any coach with any integrity to do so - WAIT, he's a trojan - do they feed them something over there that makes them more stupid and classless? Even coach Neu, who can throw trash with the best of us, would never stoop so low.

UCLA's coach showed her class by not responding to Coop's lack of institutional control. She will continue to improve our program.

F Cooper. He is dead to me now. In addition, Cooper's choice of words reflects a systemic issue at suc where the sense of "class" and dignity does not exist. Beyond Cooper's apology, there did not exist any uproar within the suc administration, which definitely would have occured if such a word to the media to comment on another university was used by any other D-1 women's b-ball coach.
