FIRE AND ICE CHART AFTER THE JUMP

Hayes Pullard
Middle Linebacker
6-2/220 pounds
Crenshaw High
FINALISTS: UCLA/USC
THE SKINNY: Pullard will almost assuredly follow in the footsteps of former Crenshaw linebacker Reggie Carter.
Scout's Take: "The Los Angeles product isn't going far from home. It's been a UCLA/USC battle for a long time, but the favorite was definitely switched to UCLA when Ken Norton, Jr., left for the Seahawks."

Anthony Jefferson
Cornerback
6-2/180 pounds
Cathedral High (Los Angeles)
FINALISTS: UCLA/Arizona/Oregon
THE SKINNY: Jefferson started heating up for UCLA over recent weeks, and those at UCLA believe it's almost a done deal.
Scout's Take: "He's another one that's pretty much told the coaches he's coming. We think he follows his good friend and former teammate Randall Carroll to Westwood."

Sealii Epenesa
Defensive Tackle
6-2/300 pounds
Iolani High (Honolulu, HI)
FINALISTS: UCLA/Baylor/Oregon State
THE SKINNY: Epenesa might not make the immediate impact of a Ricky Heimuli or Cassius Marsh, but UCLA needs all the depth it can get at D-tackle.
Scout's Take: "UCLA has been one of the constants in his recruitment, but a visit to Oregon State this weekend has put them in the mix for him, thanks to their large Polynesian contingent."

Cassius Marsh
Defensive Tackle
6-4/270 pounds
Oaks Christian
FINALISTS: UCLA/LSU/USC
THE SKINNY: He's still committed to LSU, and he's never said he's softened, but he will likely stay on the West Coast.
Scout's Take: "I feel that even when he committed to LSU, he was never leaving the West Coast. I stand by that, and that plays to UCLA's favor."

Ricky Heimuli
Defensive Tackle
6-4/285 pounds
Brighton High (Salt Lake City, Utah)
FINALISTS: UCLA/Utah/Oregon
THE SKINNY: Utah has made a major push for the hulking defensive tackle, who reportedly will play one year before his LDS mission.
Scout's Take: "If UCLA lands Heimuli, it's on par with winning Su'A-Filo a year ago. The hometown Utes are the favorites. I think it's really UCLA and Utah."

Jordan Zumwalt
Middle Linebacker
6-4/217 pounds
Edison High (Huntington Beach)
FINALISTS: UCLA/Stanford
THE SKINNY: Zumwalt thoroughly enjoyed his official visit to UCLA, but also loved his trip to Stanford.
Scout's Take: That's a tough one to crack. You'd think with the Stanford acceptance, that would've solidified things with him and the Cardinal. But UCLA has had good in-home visits with him recently, and that's been a factor. Too tough to call."

Owamagbe Odighizuwa
Defensive End
6-4/240
David Douglas High (Portland, Ore.)
FINALISTS: UCLA/Nebraska/Oregon State
THE SKINNY: His mom has long favored the academics of UCLA, but Nebraska head coach Bo Pellini made a lasting impression in a recent in-home visit.
SCOUT'S TAKE: "Nebraska's last great defensive lineman, Ndamukong Suh, was a Portland native, and that's made a big impression on him. UCLA's academics have definitely been what kept them in the running, but the longer it runs, the better the home-state team fairs. My pick is Oregon State."

Dietrich Riley
Safety
6-1/195
St. Francis High (La Canada)
FINALISTS: UCLA/USC/LSU
THE SKINNY: Riley has played the recruiting game brilliantly and will announce his decision after signing day.
Scout's Take: "What day is it? That will change by tomorrow and probably change by Wednesday. I think he's been USC's to lose since he was offered by them as a sophomore. I still think USC's the team to beat."

I don't see that about Owa anywhere on ESPN.

Your parents still hire a nanny to watch you? Wow.

Solid info. Thanks

It's funny how the anonymous trolls spout off this "information" without ever so much as backing it up with a link.

Just another Trojan Condom wishing they had a shot at OWA, but to their dismay know deep in their tiny little trojan bones that he is comign to Westwood to drill their Barkley QB.

what should be of grave concern for UCLA fans is that Utah is considered the favorite for Ricky Heimuli.

pvbruin Author Profile Page said:

Pullard, Jefferson, Epenesa, Marsh and any one of the rest would make a great class. Heimuli or Owa would be the star of the class.

It would be nice to rob Stanford of Zumwalt considering Nottingham's defection.

As for Riley, his recruitment is beginning to remind me of Eric Lorig. I hope for Riley's sake it has a happier ending.

Owa has NOT dropped UCLA, in fact, word is from people close to him is that he will end up signing with us.

Realistically, I expect we will bring in 5 or 6 of the 8 recruits mentioned. If we don't get Owa, Zumwalt, or Ricky, and we get less than 5 of the names above it would be a HUGE disappointment.

Owa hasn't dropped us and our coaches know very well where he going

Nice! This is easily my favorite blog entry of the year! I'm loving it.. lets hope the predictions come true

Someone should tell Pullard that Bruins like to disrespect lower income neighborhoods and the people who live in them before he makes his decision.

Actually SuC is cause of declining property values and a rising crime rate in South LA. I hear it was a great place to live prior to 1880.

Read the prior post, Guru you dope. Jon spoke at length to Huff and the above is the summary. Your fault for paying for recruiting info in the first place though. Welcome to the 2000's where everything is available to everyone on the internets.

this would have been an enjoyable read had it not been for the SC dumb asses....Jon why not just go through and delete any post from the pukes...

As a Bruin who also went to Utah and lives in the SLC, I am a little torn over Heimuli... I mean, which school needs him more? I guess it's good and bad for me either way...

Thanks for the Info Jon

Is there any big visits this weekend at UCLA ?
I seen that SuC has a lot of recruiting visits from the SEC side of the country this weekend.

1. The SUCLA worms will not go away, especially if you make comments about them, which is what they crave.

2. Don't read their comments. As soon as I see ol' Ugly Charlie Sucket's name I just skip right on by. Same with sputjones, unemployed SUCLA Alum, etc etc. You know who they are. They're the same six or seven guys who act like 11-years olds i.e. My dad can beat up your dad, and my school is better than yours, and your school always beats my school because you cheat.

3. Wolf does not censor, so anything goes here. Dohn would have kicked these worms off his blog in a New York minute. That said, realize why the SUCLA 'roaches comes on to the SC blog-- because they are so jealous of the Trojans' success that they use the only weapon they've got-- ridicule, sarcasm, put-downs, negative exaggerations, and pro-SUCLA material.

4. Take is as a compliment our enemies care so much about us, because I for one could give a hang less about their school except as it occasionally relates to SC.

If Huffman came up with the percentages for both SC and UCLA, then he is a bit math challenged. A few add up to more than 100%, and that's just two teams.

So, Be Real/Lawyer John-

Did you get confused? Did you mean to post this on Wolf's blog? I think you troll too much here and can't even keep it straight. Might as well jump on the Bruin badwagon, since you are here so much. Your timing would be good as well - UCLA upswing, SUC downswing.

Alright, I'll clear it up for everyone:

Once again, "BE REAL" without a typekey is not LAWYER JOHN or any of his aliases, it's bruin fan spedjones.

That being said, spedjones did cut and paste what the real LAWYER JOHN posted on Inside USC. If you go look at today's posts you'll find it and you'll also notice that spedjones has put up a couple posts of his own in the same thread. He's a busy guy.
