From UCLA:

Kai Forbath, perhaps the best field goal kicker in UCLA history, will return for the 2010 football season. Today is the final day for non-seniors to enter their name for the NFL Draft.

"I considered my options, but I want to help continue the momentum of building our program here at UCLA," Forbath said from New Haven, CT, where is participating in the Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America weekend along with fellow Bruin Rahim Moore. "It is also important to me, as well as to my family, to earn my degree."

In 2009, Forbath was the consensus All-America place kicker and won the Lou Groza Award as the nation's top kicker. He made 28 of 31 field goals, including all 25 of his attempts from inside 50 yards. He led the nation in field goals per game (2.15) and his percentage of .903 was second nationally among kickers with 23 or more attempts.

Forbath enters his senior year second on UCLA's career list with 72 field goals (the record is 85 by John Lee). In addition, his career percentage of .867 (72 of 83) is the highest in school history, well ahead of Lee's current record of .850). He also ranks No. 5 in career scoring and needs 100 points to pass Lee for the top spot.

Forbath has made 41 of his last 44 attempts stretching back to late in the 2008 season and has made 37 consecutive kicks inside 50 yards.

After the Chargers FG kicker lost them their Super Bowl shot, don't be surprised that messages make their way from Petco to Westwood.
