Howland on the zone
UCLA head coach Ben Howland admitted in Saturday's post-game press conference that he regretted not introducing the zone defense earlier this season.
"It's been very poor coaching on my part to not recognize that earlier," Howland said. "It's not something I want to do. But it's something we need to do in order to be competitive."
How about that? Right on cue is the post which affirms my observation about Howland and flexibility in the previous post. Maybe I am all that and a bag of chips?! Naaahhh, even I don't believe that. :)
Huh? How about employing the zone in the past couple of years! I don't know if we would have won a title, but would have been nice to have seen it during those Final Four runs.
