Kevin Prince on the Chow situation, Pt. 1
When did you hear Norm Chow was staying at UCLA?
"I heard just today through coach Neuheisel. He made the statement that he got a call. We started our offseason lifting today and Coach Chow was down there. Kind of explained the whole deal, what had gone on."
When did you hear he might leave?
"The news broke Tuesday night and I was paying attention to the TV like I haven't before. Coach Chow was a big part of the reason why I chose to come to UCLA. It would have been a blow if he would've left. I'm really glad he still is here."
What did you learn from the situation?
"I don't know if I ever learned too much. I'm just really grateful. I've learned how much I value Coach Chow and what he brings to the table and taught me. I really would've have missed working with him."

If memory serves, when Prince was first informed that Chow might leave he sounded ambivalent, as if Chow was replaceable. But can't blame the kid for correcting that first impression.
Just finished reading most of the posters' comments regarding the Chow situation. Unbelievable!-- I would say over 80% at least, and possibly 90% were so negative toward the respective schools involved, "SUC" and "SUCLA" as I recall, that one wonders if there is a rational college sports fan in Los Angeles.
I will admit that I can be somewhat "pointed" in my analysis of bruins on the SC blog, but on the ucla blog, as a matter of courtesy, I tone it down.
Apparently I am in a minority of 'one.'
LAWYER JOHN
All lawyers are a minority of one.
Thanks for the post, BE REAL. The past 48 hours has made for some great entertainment.
Patently untrue Liar John. Ucla posters 100 to 1have supported Norm Chow and the Bruins. SUC posters did not. These include Liar John and a few other SUC fans. Lawyers already have a bad name. Why tarnish it further Liar John?
Norm was classy and dedicated to the "student" players in the news confrence and even on Petros and Money he indicated it was about the school (UCLA ) and that he had made a committment to those kids and that he already has enough money so at this point in his career it was irrelevant. Not like some coaches that will leave coaching position after coaching position (see Lame Kiffin). Go Bruins.
In the famous words of Jim Healy, "aw thats a buncha bull." If NC was not interested, why did his agent take the calls? If he was not interested in money and is "about the kids", let's see him give back the raise and the extension.
