On Pete Carroll
A note: I will post on the USC coaching situation as it relates to UCLA. I understand it is a hot topic for Bruin fans. I will try to stay on top of it.
Obviously, as it relates to recruiting if Carroll does, in fact, leave USC, I'll look out for it.

This story is blowing up...ESPN just claimed that the Carrol deal is done. Seattle times says that due to ROONEY rule, an interview needs to occur prior to any announcement...probably tomorrow. Meanwhile the phones are blowin' up at the J.D. Morgan Center. I hear all U$C's big recruits are scrambling for a UCLA ticket before they are all gone!
@ Anon
Right...because Dorrell was the same kind of coach with the same track record as Carroll. This is a national story for all of college football and the NFL and you're going to piss and moan about it being on the UCLA blog?
So NOW PC is going to make Bruin fans have some in fighting before he goes..."so long fare well love to see you go"
You are trolling here, no one cares who is trolling there.
If Petey is leaving that means sanctions are coming and coming fast. USC better hold their ankles because it won't be pretty.
Anon 4:36 is right. With Southern Calif bending over, grabbing their ankles and kissing their ass goodbye, they're looking at a possible death penalty (worse case scenario) or "sanctions" (best case scenario). I wouldn't be surprised if Carroll skips town for the money...Leaving for the challenge (NFL success he never attained) because he's a competitor...BullSh_t! He's a coward who'll be leaving the USC program in a shambles. I really wanted Carroll to stick around so that Neuheisel could finally stick it to him! Oh well!!
Well, Carroll going back to the NFL is about how he had some unfinished business in his career i.e. was not a highly successful NFL coach and had something to prove if not to the world, then to himself.
Carroll leaving probably will affect ucla in a very minor way-- if the Trojan recruits bail they will more likely go to schools that have national championship chances such as Florida, Texas or Virgina Tech.
As much as the bruin nation cannot wait for the NCAA hammer to come down on SC football, this process will probably take another year to reach completion, if then. Bush's depositions first have to take place, and Bush's attorneys are utilizing all the obstreperous tactics to avoid this. It may never happen because the smart money says Bush pays off his accusers before the information becomes public.
It seems a sad commentary on people today, how so many get more excited about an adversary's problems (SC) then they do over the success of their own program (ucla).
But people today are basically wired in a negative fashion. Too bad for them because it is not in their best internal interest.
But such talk is like whistling in the wind.
LAWYER JOHN
ChuckerBucker reporting from the USC Blog: hi guys, things are looking pretty F&%#-ing grim over there...Basketball is dead in the water, Football team and coaches are fleeing like rats from a sinking ship, Garrett is next, and the Football sanctions haven't even hit yet. i am getting a team together (me, Yo-Duh, Unemployed USC Guy, etc) to provide grief counseling at Southern Cal's campus. we have wolf on a 24hr hold for observation. and the bandwagon Kool-Aid squad is tearing each other apart.
ok i'm going back in....
Lawyer John, I find it fascinating that such an astude person like yourself doesn't understand that cheating is cheating. I guess it all depends on the meaning of "is". It is good when cheaters are caught and those involved are punished. Petey, with is little smile and his wonderful PR in the greater LA area is a cheater, it will be proven. Instead of sticking around and facing the music, he will leave towards the greener or should I say the wetter pastures of Seattle. I don't think it is a good thing and it really makes the boys of Troy look rather foolish. However with ambulance chasers such as yourself there is always hope that the allegations will be dropped and the sharks will swim away fatter and less ethical.
the football monopoly in LA is officially OVER.
with no NFL teams, the Bruins will be the only game in town
If LJ actually attended sc, he might understand. Just slap the dreaded LOIC on them already. Two major programs as dirty as can be. May the cheaty Petey era be over.
"It seems a sad commentary on people today, how so many get more excited about an adversary's problems (SC) then they do over the success of their own program (UCLA)."
proving that a legal defensive, no matter how weak, can be offered for any circumstance.
so we should not have refs for games, for after all, a penalty is the adversary's problem, not ours.
trouble is, if the penalty is not called, it does affect our success
hi guys, ChuckerBucker here reporting again from the Southern Cal Blog:
it getting nasty in there, boys. the Kool-Aid guzzlers are turning on chetey now and for some queer reason they now seem to be inexplicably pinning their hopes on Norm Chow returning as OC. we are seeing the varied stages of grief i think, shock, denial, anger, and now they have digressed into fantasy.
i gotta get some rest. i am going to be trolling in there all weekend it looks like. wolf and the Southern Cal Kool-Aiders need me now more than ever...
I support Charlie Bucket, he's hilarious!
anon: thank you for your support.
no matter what personal, political or financial price i have to pay, i will not let our Southern Cal brothers down when they need me most. they are sinking into an interminable morass of deceit that they created, that is true. but they are human beings, and i cannot stand idly by and watch them tear each other apart. i can't. i won't.
attention, Jedi Gold, missed this info, you did.
some hope remains for Trojans to keep Darth Carroll, I sense.
posted this interview with Rooney Rule administrator, a Seattle paper has.
complete control, Darth Carroll will not get.
cooling quickly on the Seattle offer, he is.
too easy this was, a trick i sensed early on.
remain at USC, Darth Carroll will.
re-started, the war on Darth Carroll has.
