sure hope Sporting News is correct, 3rd recruiting class for RN is crucial
This is exactly what I expected when CRN was hired.
GO BRUINS
Rankings are fun.
The only ones I care about are the final BCS & AP of the year.
Where does that put us in the Pac-10?
I think the third commenter cares about AP because almost all of '$c "championships" are shared and their lone BCS championship is about to be nullified.
So if we get almost all of the top recruits we are going after we will end up with a top 10 class. Can't the same be said for every team? Unfortunately, it won't happen. We will end up with Pullard and Jefferson.
Also, the author using this as a sign of the gap closing between us and USC actually hurts the argument. Even if USC didn't get another commit (which is obviously unrealistic) they will still have a higher ranked class than us, despite having to replace one of the greatest coaches in history.
If UCLA can land Heimuli, Marsh and Epenesa, the rest of the recruiting class would be gravy.
meh
Matt, "only" appears to favor speculative polls with no actual "championship" played. Wouldn't that be a shame if a BCS championship win was nullified, but a defeat remain?

Exactly what type of 'magic' does Kiffin have as alluded to by the Sporting News Blogger?
Luring players with the potebntial of getting a car...or all the ganja wanted to pull off robberies?
It's amazing how Kiffin has buffaloed the media into thinking he actually has accomplished something after barely going .500 at Tenn using Phil Fulmer's players, 6 of which are projected to be drafted into the pros.
Putting that in perspective, CBS is suggesting UCLA will have 3 drafted: Price, Vernor, and Carter.
The same number as Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Rutgers, South Carolina (the other USC), but behind: Connecticut (4), East Carolina (5!), Fresno State (4), Kansas St (4), Kentucky (4), Northwestern (4), South Florida (6!), Troy (4), and Virginia (4).
At least UCLA has more than powerhouses: Buffalo (2), Central Michigan (2), Eastern Washington (2), James Madison (2), the three "M's" Marshall, Maryland and Massachusetts all with 2, and let's not forget San Jose State with 2, along with mighty South Dakota State.
The media should consider giving Coach Rick some credit for an OK 11-14 record considering the 'talent' Coach Karl left on the shelf! 2 undrafted free agents in 2009 and three prospects this year.
We need offensive linemen, without them offense is going to be hard to come by. You'd think good offensive linemen would want to go to UCLA because of playing time. Recruiting has been hurt at USC already so don't pretend that it hasn't, and when the University of Hoover and 27th Streets goes on probation and is not allowed to be on tv for three years, then you'll have to go deep into denial Trojan fan. Won't be long now.
Damn! ....Lame has lots of UT recruits coming this weekend...i wonder how many they called the night they left to SuC???? Lots of limos and Rang Rovers this weekend at SuC....Maybe Riley will get turned off with all the smell of cheating too...
